In other news, it seems things have stopped materialising in my garden here. I guess I can always try another and come back to this one later.

I thought so too, but it does seem to keep materialising things. I have a duck along with the soaking deer now, and in the other garden, I got another deer, two more trees, a pot and some grass. Whether it takes more time the more you've got, or it's because the server is swamped, I do not know.

I've now got a second copy of shoulder-hair woman, far off to the right, hiding behind a shrub staring at a copy of herself in the distance. It's slightly creepy, for some reason.

Now I'm sure things keep updating, some are just small. I happened to see two leaves being added on one tree, and then a few leaves on another tree. Also, I tried opening a third garden, change the light to red, move it up, and that gave me three cactii so far. And a turtle.

Ziggid wrote:Edit 2: is it just me or is the tree slightly wobbling?

Nope, one of my trees is definitely wobbling, like there's a storm coming.

So red light and blue light give interesting results.

I guess the association is red -> hot and blue -> cold, with a mixture of the two giving a more temperate zone garden.

I'm up to three women now. I suspect the clone army shall be complete by tomorrow morning.

Yeah, that was my thought as well. In other news, in one garden I have a duck sitting in a birdbath, and in the red garden, I have a turtle sitting on top of a cactus. Thank God for its shell.

Pfffft. In Chrome and Firefox, I get lights but no ground. Only in IE do I get a surface on which to grow things.

So far, a tuft of grass, and a cactus. Nothing under the blue light yet.

After 10 minutes I have a cat, a tiny tree waving in the wind, and a tuft of grass. Hm.

Anyone else notice that their tree sways in the wind a little bit?

Do any of the other objects move at all? Everything other than the tree appears to be static.

At the moment I have a tiny little stick that sways ever so gently. Perhaps it would grow more?

Also, I've learned that things don't die after they're grown--as evidenced by me trying to kill an octopus with three red lights. They're permanent.

All of my trees sway in the wind (the big one is the most noticeable) and I've got a number of plants that seem to do it as well (that could be my imagination for some - but not all - of them).

The garden I got is not unique to me. There was already some history there when I loaded it. Once in a while someone else comes along and mucks about with the lamp settings or deletes an object.

Yep, even when it's just a stalk (like the one growing behind the obelisk in my previous screenshot. Speaking of which, has anyone else gotten an obelisk so far? I've tried to reproduce, but can't remember what kind of light I used >.<)

kenmelken wrote:Do any of the other objects move at all? Everything other than the tree appears to be static.
Of those I got, the trees are the only ones that move. Then again, there are probably more unseen objects, some of those might move.

On a different note, am I the only one that finds the lack of sandcastles disturbing ?

My problems regarding the ground not loading were because of xkcd.org vs xkcd.com CORS headers. Using com instead of org helped.

Now a tree and some taller grass.

But umm....when I first started and wasn't "relax" and read some suggestions here... I have a Chrome and an IE garden. Is that "cheating"?

You can remove any plant/animal/object by hand. Click on it, and then on the [X] in the top right corner.

Yes, that's just plain wrong.

Obelisk sounds Egypt/deserty, so maybe use a red light to get it?

You need a special combination of light heat and intensity (the distance and angle effects affects intensity). It takes a while to get the angle and Y-coordinates right.

My garden just won't stay anymore. It keeps resetting to the original one lamp about every 5 minutes, wiping out anything that has grown. =/

I have a few weedy tufts, a bush and a tree which is steadily growing bigger and with a thicker trunk and lots of leaves.

I've set my three lamps to shine different colours - the one on the left shines red, the one in the middle white, and the third one blue. I've set the lamps for maximum coverage.

And the tree is definitely moving. Moving, without a wind blowing it. Very Lovecraftian.

With the latest version of Chrome, I can get 3 lights, no background, which do nothing after 15 minutes.
With Internet Explorer, I get only 1 light and can see the ground, but that's it. No matter where I put the light, it re-centers itself to the original position every few minutes and nothing happens.
With Edge, I get the same as Chrome.

Updated Java to the latest edition, made sure all updates are in place.

Running Windows 10 with all updates, 16GB Ram, 8.4TB storage. No errors in Events Log.

So how often do you get something added to your garden?

I've been Waiting For It for about half an hour and only 2 objects have appeared so far.

[edit] 10 minutes later and suddenly the trunk starts to get branches and leaves
