Title text: Our experts have characterized the ecological impact of this trend as "adorable."

Now, how do we get this to actually happen on Pennsylvania Avenue..?

(Thread ninjaed by seconds! Self deleting if i can, nothing to see here!)

Oh, and you need quotes around the "Bun Trend" in the subject, Calu!

An increasing number of buns have been observed eating Cheetos. This was first reported by Don Cheetle.

Saw the headline and first thought of this

Was almost as disappointed as if "Bun Trend" had been about bobcats.

So. Those of us in the "I just don't understand what the Bun comics are getting at" camp have another data point. I'm not sure it helps.

However, the last panel is funny in a standalone way.

I think it is more a follow up of this comic:
https://xkcd.com/1682/

I tend to despair of the last time the US had a government likely to be better than a lagomarchy. Maybe we should simply grab Canadian officials and put them in US office (hopefully Canada could endure the situation thanks to greater sanity on the Southern border). Rabbits could presumably handle executive office, replacing tweets with cute hopping and less interference with the GS-types in the cubes.

Also, a follow up to this comic: https://xkcd.com/1871/

I think Randall learned to draw buns and wants to exercise that skill. Given the topic, I would expect the number of bun comics to grow exponentially!

How many people actually refer to rabbits as "Buns"? Bunny, sure, but I've only come across this form in Randall's comics.

That was the original joke that he's continuing to run with.

I don't understand. Are we supposing there's no real reason an elected official would need Bun alerts? What happened to "America must never forget"?

What is it with GLR and this running joke which wasn't that funny to begin with?

I believe that's part of the joke: true to form, White Beret is ignoring the bun trend that's actually a, well, trend, in favor of something totally absurd.

I thought it was going to be about sandwich buns. Or maybe glutes.

I just don't get why he insists that smaller is better.

I mean, maybe it's just me, but I like big buns, and I cannot lie.

Well there's a lot of rabbits in DC so who knows. Of course the strip mentions a governor so it's probably a state capitol.

I think there are at least two ways to enjoy the bun comics:

A) Oh me yarm there are other people who are as obsessed with bun sightings as I am! That is so cool! LOL!

2) What??? There are people who are obsessed with rabbit sightings? And "bunny" isn't diminutive enough for them - they call rabbits "buns???" That is so weird! LOL!
