Wow, such a sad, sad down from my personal feelings about the last comic.

Curses! you beat me!

but I got the link in the post.

EDIT: (personally I think it should go to the first person to correctly post, but alas, my meticulousness defeated me this time)

I feel like this little xkcdian every time I think about how I can't seem to forget my first love, even as I fall for new people. The more you try to forget, the more you cannot help but remember.

On a related note, I just lost twenty dollars and my self respect, and now, so have all of you.

Wow, I was really depressed a few minutes ago. Now I read this and I'm really really depressed, but at least I know there is camaraderie.
I'd love to have your cake and eat it too.

And if one were to presume that this is the same guy from Wednesday's comic, then the logical conclusion is that this is what happens when you Wiki during foreplay.

This is rather depressing, but fits my mood fairly well. Well, mine is more of a depressed anger, but still.

I actually don't find this depressing, I find it a bit uplifting!

Makes me feel... comforted, in a way, about being away from the people I love.

To me, it doesn't seem like he's heading anywhere in particular. He's wandering, lost after a hard breakup. He doesn't know where to go, other than away from the one who left him.

Poor guy

Hmm. I think I've seen this one before.

I'm also reminded of this one:

I think these tend to be your worst comics xkcd. You do better when you include the offbeat. This falls flat like emo poetry to me.

It's not quite as exciting as some of the other recent comics, truly paradigm shifts without a clutch.
But it took me by surprise (what? it's past 12:00 already!) since I only saw this link and haven't yet gone to the main page itself.
It's sadly not as new and original as I might hope, but it has pretty nice art, the second color comic in quite some time.

naw, it's not bleak enough to be emo, I mean it's sad, but emo's don't really write about love lost, they write about how love is empty, shallow and callous.

anyway, I think half the fun of xkcd is the dichotomies, immaturity and avanced mathematical principles. sensitve romance, dark sadism. it's like some sort of philosophical rollercoaster.

and the alt text for this one, is brilliant, that last bitter sting, I winced a little when I read it.
as signatures go, I could probably do alot better than this.

Come on, people! What's with all the moping? I thought this was hilarious!!
At first you think that the guy's like off at war or something tragic and is thinking about how much he loves his girl. But then he's just trying to get away ...
Well I thought it was (really) funny.

Not that I don't appreciate the feeling of the comic. I wonder if she's forgotten me.

Love that song.

Comic was ok, not spectacular but ok.

I'm gonna ditto you, my first impression was that he was trying to get away because he hated the girl or something.

Then I realized it was because she'd left him, and it was just a sad comic, but I saw the dark humour before the tragic romance.

Brilliant song. Is that the version with "And when I haver, whatever the f*** that means, I'm gonna be the one that's havering for you"?

Probably not, since it looks like the Benny and Joon version, but I can't remember, and it's too late to listen to it through.

Anyone want to take bets on how long it takes Randall to fix the misspelling this time?

Unlike many of you, and despite the spelling error, I like this one a lot.

Specifically, this has one of my favorite alt-texts.

There's nothing wrong with a little melancholy now and then. I think his more somber strips are some of his best.

Well, maybe not half the fun, but a good bit of the quality. My favorite xkcd comic does not make me happy. It's still my favorite.

Don't forget, a very bleak xkcd comic resulted in a wonderful memory for many of you.

Also, I really like this comic. Who says xkcd always has to be funny? I'll take thought-provoking, melancholy greatness any day. It's weird that I like sad comics and sad songs, when I'm generally a very happy person.

This one reminds me of some of the older comics - that's a good thing. Along with a series of questionably legal maneuvers to save time at red lights, xkcd is also Stuff Like This, no?

This is the point where I realize that I joined the fora not for the slightly off-kilter quasi-nerds, or the future of the interweb, or the newest meme... but simply because this work is genuine. It's authentic feeling, and to mock it... blasphemy.

Hmm. Interesting. Somehow I don't feel that a made-up word found only on UD would show up in an xkcd comic, but then again, Randall's full of surprises. Perhaps he'll clear it up in his blag, like the last time his spelling went awry.
