0014: "Copyright"

Postby Oort » Tue Jan 16, 2007 11:19 pm UTC

I started a thread on an old comic because I didn't understand the title text. What do slash dot and boingboing have to do with copyright?

Slashdot is a geek-news discussion site in the form of an overgrown blog with entries selected by editors and strong emphasis on visitor comments (to the extent that most people see it as a discussion board more than a blog; I could get tech news anywhere, but I visit /. for the comments). One of the things that the visitors discuss frequently, with great passion, and typically with little expertise, is copyright law.

I imagine boingboing is similar.

So I've always wanted to know which way this comic was intended to be interpreted.

Is it meant "Sometimes I just can't get outraged about people breaking copyright law." or "Sometimes I just can't get outraged about the evils of copyright law."

What's your take on it?

I have this hanging on the wall of my cubicle (assuming the first context).

I think he means both.
