0441: "Babies"

Alt text: I bet my future kids will read this someday. DEAR FUTURE KIDS: how did you get internet in the cellar?

http://xkcd.com/441/

.... disassembling kids could get messy.

Edit: why are they holding it by one foot? I wonder if that's harmful

They still build houses with cellars?

@ Kazuke It depends on where the house is built. My friend has a basement, my other friend has a cellar, and I have nothing underground. I'm in NC. It just depends on whether or not they're needed in the area you're in. So all in all, the answer is yes. =)

One of the first things I thought of when I saw this comic was one of them saying "If it doesn't work when we put it back together, we should blow into the parts" like in http://xkcd.com/218/

What is the difference between a basement and a cellar anyway?

@ Steve Cellars are completely underground, they usually have an outdoor entrance and an entrance from you're house. They are the safest place to be in a tornado. Basements are usually only connected through your house and only partially underground. My friend has a basement that is half underground, there are usually windows.

Dictionary. com says

A Cellar is a room, or set of rooms, for the storage of food, fuel, etc., wholly or partly underground and usually beneath a building.
and a Basement is a story of a building, partly or wholly underground.

Isn't it too soon after Creepy Austrian Guy's crimes came to light to be making jokes about storing children in cellars?

And that your killing lots of could-be-people by making ONE person.

Crazy people in the modern world and their crazy definitions of "old enough". Randall, judging by your bio, you're old enough to have grandkids. Mind you, that's unwise to the second power, but it's still biologically possible.

No, actually it would be nice if it were that easy. Think of all the poor people who want to change sex, and the best doctors can do is a workaround where they make them look like the other sex but they don't function fully. Probably can't have kids and so. It's a lot easier to just take them apart, turn the penis or vagina inside out, and put them back together. Neat indeed. Let's tip off some Nobel Prize winning scientist to this brave new prospect!

I disagree with the idea that there is a difference between a basement and a cellar; as far as I'm concerned, they're the same thing. Maybe it's a regional thing?

I was waiting for someone to get to this. The age of. Not unrelated to the 17 girls (or howmanyever)(it's a word now), I suppose.

Times have changed - in a far simpler word of only a century or two ago, the onset of puberty was at what - 15 or 16. Now it's 10, and the world is so far more complicated (just consider buying a sandwich then and now). So the gap between the physical age, i.e. when are the kids capable of mindlessly making kids, and the emotional age, when are the kids capable of knowing what they're doing when they make kids, has widened. Drastically.

What I just said was said by anyone in the last ten generations, at least, each in their own time. Yet we live.

Sad.

And I fear for the future of that child if it's parents think like this.
