The artwork is fantastic in this one. Stick figures can go a long way.

EDIT: Well that won't make sense now that the image is up.

Well, it's up now, and this thread wins the thread war.

I didn't find it particularly funny, but that may be just me.

I tried throwing a boomerang a long time back. Well, that is to say I succeed at throwing a boomerang. I failed at getting it to come back.

I thought this comic was hilarious, especially the army of boomerangs in panel 8.

As has been said in other threads, try refreshing the page, and if that doesn't work, clear your cookies and interwebtubes cache.

The comic resonated for me. Hell, not only boomerangs; I've never really been good with any things you throw. I'm getting better at knives, though.

Try reading the comic from every possible direction for extra laughs.

Also, the IRC room has made me aware of gray dots in between the comic squares. Now I can't stop seeing them.

I think there was a good three minutes before the actual image showed up.

i got worried. i was waiting up for the new comic and it wasnt there! go figure the cookies had something to do with it....

boomerangs are a pain to throw. it's like you have to throw them a certain angle at a certain degree with a certain amount of force...i swear, those aborigines were some crazy physicist geniuses to invent those...at least he got something to come back to him, even though it wasnt anything worth getting...

maybe it was the hat guy throwing stuff back?? im just saying it's something he would do to mess with the guy :)

read bottom left to top right for what usually happens to you when you throw a boomerang lol

This comic is best read diagonally, bottom right to top left is my favorite.

The columns each tell an interesting story - the 1st one is about the frustration of a man who keeps throwing boomerangs, but never gets them to return. The 4th, as Randall suggests, is just plain funny. The 3rd is, in a way, almost a throwback to Internet Argument - has he gotten into a "discussion" on Solaris vs RedHat, and has the girl just arrived to take him to meet the other person? And the 2nd is very poignant in its minimalism.

The top right to bottom left diagonal is a great story about never giving up. Of course, if you read it bottom left to top right it's just the first row all over again.

I'm surprised he put a shark in the 3rd row, 4th panel, not a raptor.

Reading column 2 top to bottom doesn't work very well, but reading it backwards is kinda neat.

The rightmost panels read from top to bottom is a homage to the movie my super ex-girlfriend..

That is why it is a shark.

Nice...up until the last line. I guess I'm just not as into this surreal humor thing (recall the "Remember Monty Python: Promote Surreal Humor" comic).

Nice technique with including the bonus comic, though.

Now, if I assume that last line isn't surreal humor, would someone mind explaining to me how it makes sense?

I don't see how it can't be surreal humor. . .

I love all these alternate orders. I just read it wraparound style (15-12-5-2), and it took me a while to figure it out.

I don't get the "last four strips top to bottom" bonus strip. My favourite reading is the bottom row, right to left.

What do you mean "wrap-around" style? You mean you read panel 15 first, then 12, then 5 then 2?

My favourite way to read this is bottom right to bottom left. Just 4 panels. I wish we could deal with all our problems this way, just chucking boomerangs at them.

Boomerangs are quite fun to throw around and play catch with (with someone else; it's just boring if you're trying to get it to come back to you, since they almost never do unless you threw it wrong or there was a stiff breeze). Though I would not recommend playing catch with a hunting boomerang.

Yeah, I throw booms myself, and they are tricky to get the hang of at first.... but now they are quite a bit of fun, although I have never seen any of those results after throwing... (except the first...)

Try reading the third column down. I like to think of it as the story of someone who tries to grab a soda using telekinesis, but gets confused when it doesn't work, only to find that it causes a woman to float over.

The comments about the illusory gray dots in the corners make me want to create a diagram of several squares that actually does have light gray dots in the corners. Could that be a technique of nerd sniping? Reproduce a famous illusion, but change it so that what appears to be true actually is true. And then confuse people who actually expect it to be an illusion.

I love the "make up your own variation" nature of this comic...

If the panels are 1-4 top row left to right, then 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, read it thusly:

1, 2, 6, 10, 14, 3, 7 then choose any of 4, 8 or 12!

Someone should write a little generator that gives you a random selection of the panels to see some truly surreal ones.

I have a boomerang but I have never taken it to a sufficiently large area to give it a go. I feel that I need space, lots of space, to get some practice in.

For my experience with boomerangs, read the comic normally, OMITTING all rightmost panels...

They never come back. :(
