Is this really a disorder?

Isn't this a blessing?

I misread “Morgan” as “Gordon” and thought for a second, “Wait, he doesn’t say anything….”

Randall, get out of my head.

I was watching the Olympics, and they had a cutaway wherein Morgan Freeman congratulated Michael Phelps for his accomplishments, and I publicly announced that when I made my millions, I would hire Morgan Freeman to narrate my life.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one suffering from Freemanic Paracusia. :)

On a serious note, it was so sad to hear what happened to him this past week. First a car wreck, then divorce. What else can happen to the man?

I don't read youtube comments, but I can't think they'd be helped by any voice. If anything, reading something so stupid in a debonair and sophisticated voice as Morgan Freeman's would give credence where it isn't deserved.

I think I'd prefer Jeremy Irons, but Morgan Freeman would have to come in a close second.

The term paracusia refers to an alteration of volume, timbre, or some other distortion of sound. This may be both unpleasant and persistent. Unlike tinnitus and other auditory perceptions caused by end-organ disease, paracusiae are cerebral in origin. This is analogous to the distinction between entopic and cerebrally based visual hallucinations. Auditory hallucinations may be elementary or complex, ranging from humming and buzzing to music, voices, and radio programs. Their cause is not limited to the temporal lobe, however. Ipsilateral musical hallucinations, for example, also result from lesions to the pontine tegmentum. That such brainstem hallucinogens usually occur in the context of hearing loss suggests that they may be an instance of release hallucinations, as previously discussed.

...courtesy of The Neurological Side of Neuropsychology. I'm just too tickled by the ad hoc adverbial form of Freeman's name to fret over whether "paracusia" is the medically correct diagnosis in this case :)

I oddly felt the same way during the graphic beatings and sodomy in the Shawshank Redemption. No matter how bad it got there was Morgan Freeman's cool cadence. Now I am going to get busy living or get busy dying so I'm out.

I was watching the bucket list when my mum commented "Morgan Freeman is the spitting image of your grandad" my mother says this every time she see's the bloke, to which I always reply "yes, apart from grandad John is white, along with the rest of us, and doesn't bear any actual recognition" I almost commented on his unkanny likeness to Gordan Freeman.... but it would have been wasted.

Interesting fact: My grandad was the cheif designer for the undercarage mechanism for concord.

Down with tupolev!
Please don't correct my spelling, I am lisdexic and know it is probably wrong.

I'm not the only one who does this? Oh, holy Freeman, that's a relief.

I think an effective form of therapy would be to write down all your issues and read it to yourself, with his voice and commentary.

Nice. Thanks. I really liked that speech. "Lords of all creation".

It's fitting though having Freeman in my head. After watching Bruce Almighty he has become the image of God in my head. So technically...I have inner enlightenment. It's amazing.

A similar, and (afaik) yet un-named disorder comes to mind:

A disorder wherein you hear everything in the accent of a stereotypical Indian telephone support technician.

I wouldn't mind having this, only with Ayumi Hamasaki. Damn that is an awesome voice. Although that could be interesting, since I rarely read things in Japanese, and I doubt she speaks much English. Heh.
