I'm sorry, could you explain what you mean in more detail? I doubt I'd be able to answer you, but I'm somewhat curious what you think the connection is.

Spiders are objects in topology where lines radiate out from a point and can have any amount of "legs". so i was just woundering if that is what the original intent was? or is it based on something else? The main reason i made this connection was becuase in the cartoons they are on cubes. My main question is what are they based on?

On a search, I discovered that there was no thread as yet for #8... If I'm wrong, just go ahead and delete this.

Is that a rope ladder just above-right of middle?

I think I'm just a bit too geeky. I made stats for these things in Dungeons and Dragons. Because everything needs a statblock!

This one has always reminded me of Ender's Game.

We never found out what happened to the red spiders! We had the counter-offensive: http://xkcd.com/47/ and then 'red spiders cometh' http://xkcd.com/126/ (alt-text = 'uh oh') but as far as I know that was the end of it. Ominous...

I agree, I also think that he should continue it in a very unexpected and creative way that none of us could ever expect! We as continuous readers should be allowed to enjoy this blast from the xkcd past!
