Alt-Text: Oh, your brother is Luke. Sorry, should have mentioned that first.

Didn't we all feel that?

I loved that line, but sadly I think the other lines in this comic are shadowed by its brilliance.

The last one is my favorite.

To me, it also calls into attention how racist Leia is for saying that in the first place.

Do I lose any Internets for pausing a while to ponder over what "ESB" means?

Spoiler:
Yes, I know: "Empire Strikes Back". For some reason I thought they were talking about Blade Runner.

"Electric Sheep Bot"? No clue how that got in there, although at least it jumped to a good movie before I realized how wrong I was.

EDIT: My favorite is the second from the last one. I could actually see that happening.

Also, anyone catch the "Inspector Gadget" reference?

I just love his pose in the lower middle panel...

Also: When I saw "Improvised Discussion" I thought "As opposed to the pre-scripted discussions we usually have?" before I figured it out...

Needs more Indy!

I'll - ahem - adlib one for you:

Brody: Marion's the least of your worries right now, believe me, Indy.
Indiana: What do you mean?
Brody: Well, I mean that for nearly three thousand years man has been searching for the lost ark. It's not something to be taken lightly. No one knows its secrets. It's like nothing you've ever gone after before.
Indiana: Oh, f&ck off, Marcus.
--
EDIT: got some more:

Indiana Jones: We weren't brought here. Our plane crashed.
Willie: [nodding and smiling] It crashed.
Shaman of Maypore: [laughing] No, no, no. We prayed to Shiva to help us find the stone. It was Shiva who made you fall from sky. So you will go to Pankot Palace... and find Shivalinga... and bring back to us. Bring back to us. Bring back to us.
Indiana Jones: [grabs shaman by the collar] OK, are you seriously not getting this? We were in a plane, it crashed, we alllll almost died. Nobody cares about your Shivamadiddly!
--
[lecturing in class]
Indiana Jones: "X" never, ever marks the spot.

[later, finding the big X in the church]
Indiana Jones: God damn it they set me up.
--
Walter Donovan: As you can now see, Dr. Jones, we are on the verge of completing a quest that began almost two thousand years ago. We're just one step away.
Indiana Jones: Yeah, that's what everybody says. Right before the Wrath of God comes out of a box and kills them.

Edited to fix that ambiguity. When you're up at midnight EST battling to get the comic thread posted, you tend to ignore the finer points of style and grammar.

This one is really funny.

WE need more Star Wars references. the world will be better if we had more Star Wars references.

I'm talking abbout the original trilogy, of course, although I don't hate the prequels like everyone else does.

The question is: do we script them in Python or Perl?

It'd be an interesting pseudo-thread in "Religious Wars": Python vs Perl, which better approximates AI?

Actually, no need to make that thread. Python can negate gravity, so it wouldn't take much to make a self-aware program (or for Python itself to become self-aware. I wonder if Skynet will be written in Python or if it is Python...).

No. "Good odds" usually implies a prime number, if you ask me.

Unless, of course it's a 9.8 million digit Mersenne Prime (number 44). Then you're pretty much screwed.

Well, in the real world universe, asteroids don't tend to clump together very much. Even when passing through the asteroid belt, it would be rare to be able to see multiple asteroids at once.

Space, as Bill Bryson said, is extremely well-named.

Speaking of growing hair out, it seems Harrison Ford is one of the few males Randall has seen fit to grace with hair - the only other case I can think of right now is Black Hat Guy, as depicted in Journal 2. Significant?

Blasphemy! Harrison Ford is the best improvisational actor of all times. He had the cohones to tell George Lucas, "George, you can write this shit, but you can't say it." I only wish someone in the prequel trilogy could have demonstrated equal improvisational talent.

Add another "get out of my head Randall" moment in XKCD's history.

I work in a restaurant that plays many old movies in our lounge section; tonight we played ESB and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Of course, discussion came up about the amazing adlibed "I Know" line, in addition to the improvised sword fight that never was.

Pretty sure that assuming the whole 42 thing doesn't work out, Harrison Ford could be replaced as the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything.

Best line for me was, 'I'm nailing your brother,' for its simplicity. Ahhh, the crappy jokes are always the best. I now have an urge for Star Wars, however.
