Ah, I can totally identify the beta decay Feynman diagram in the second version. That would have been my guess for the earlier picture, but the labels were too darn small to read.

blood wasn't exactly the bodily fluid I was thinking of... :o

Also, awesome picture. :D

I think the fluid you were thinking of may lead to contrast and readability issues.

The most interesting thing is wondering which formulas they have written on the front.
Vandole wants you to read An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom (NSFW text).

That depends on whether or not you're into that sort of thing.
Not that I am. There are some fetishes that I just can't get on board with.

It's both the most and the least interesting thing simultaneously, until they turn around.

This brings a whole new meaning to the Schrodinger Equation.

It was only a matter time before Schrodinger was tied to a pussy and boobs.

What is truly frightening is that it has taken this long! What has science come to...

edit: I hate the word truly

Hmm, now that I think about it, so do I. If only because it makes me think of the spelling "truely", which is one of my many pet peeves about English mechanics.

Point of fact, my edit there was because I submitted with truly spelled "truely." I was debating misspelling it in the edit just to spite the darn thing.

A careful choice of the female's skin color could fix that. Besides, if one really did use that particular body fluid, one would not be in a position [no pun intended] to care at the time.

That's one of the first things I noticed about the comic.
I think I just might have to go shoot myself now. I really do like this comic though. I just hope this doesn't give a bad reputation to us mathy people (would a mathy female be as likely as a male to end up with a similarly-timed realization?) And if I had enough money, I would pay the women in the picture to follow me around looking like that.

Well, I screwed up. The "rotation matrix" on the left-end girl is actually a Lorentz boost written in terms of the rapidity. Mea maxima culpa.

Now you know why I can't have nice things. . . .

Did this once, but it was discrete math, not graph theory.

This comic makes me wish I had a boyfriend to write all over me...

Though, I *do* keep a notepad and coffee mug of pens on my headboard for this exact reason. (Not for taking notes during sex, for sudden inspiration!)

I can't tell you how many times I wake up in the morning with a brand new list or idea for a painting.

I woke up a week or two ago with a list of 'Things to Learn' on my headboard...including (but not limited to):

French
Knife throwing
More math
Salsa dancing
Levitation
Glass Blowing
More physics
Archery
Telekenesis

I don't know what I was dreaming that prompted this list...but...it certainly sounds like fun!

I think there's an interesting story behind that picture.

If I'm correct that picture is titled "16 things we understand, and 4 we don't" (in a reference to the 16 equations) and is a homage to a famous Pink Floyd album cover of 4 naked women with painted backs.

Miss GR speaking here.

I'm flattered that there was so much discussion. I don't know why the unofficial version should be floating around, though. The official version with title, subtitle, and cleaned up equations can be found at http://www.cafepress.com/physchicks

Now, for clarification:
the girls are left to right: GR, E&M, Mechanics, and Quantum.

I am the only actual physicist in the picture, though the one to the right of me does some planetary sciences.

It was taken at Cornell in 2003 in the Library of the arts dorm (Risley), during a last minute physics homework session, which was held there every Thursday evening (RisPhys).

The full title is:
Beyond the Standard Model: Nineteen things we understand and four we don't

It is true that it was inspired by the Pink Floyd poster.

Three men were involved:
Austin, whose brainchild it was. Physicist.
Matt, who was the only one we all found wholesome enough to write on all our backs. Physicist.
Kevin, who had a fancy digital SLR with many accouterments. Engineer.
