Be honest and true to yourself because shit happens that you have no control over. Don't smash your head against the wall about things you could not possibly know. Don't make decisions without knowing all of the facts. Oh what a pickle life can be. Good Luck young man!

I think Schrodinger jokes are only surpassed by 4th wall jokes in terms of frequent subjects among comics I like. There's something about the imagery of a cat simultaneously dead and alive that really captures the imagination.

I can see how that would be interesting. After a decade, I'm sure the Cat is use to it. :D

I'm sure the cat is simultaneously used to and not used to it.

There is always an adjustment period when a new environment is introduced. However, once the cat can make sense of the environment, it is in a much better position than before. Well, at lease mentally. Not having a clue leaves it nowhere to go. Surly a Vet. would know this. I guess that would depend on what the vet was getting paid to do.

I'm considering getting/making 'Schrodinger's T-shirt'

Front: 'The back of this shirt is both funny and unfunny at the same time. Until you read it, there's no way to know which it will be'
Back: 'Shit'

A friend and I have thought about making Schrodinger shirts. Our favorite idea was "Schrodinger's cat was a zombie".

Looking at the entire comic archive, this one is still my absolute favourite :)

Sorry to post about such an old comic but I had to comment.

The alt text is brilliant. I moused over the comic about 5 times to see if the text would appear each time.

It did.

I must be doing something wrong. Even after reading it, I failed to collapse the wave function of the last panel.

Anyone else have this issue?

Indeed, a difficult dilemma. I suspect the answer is somewhere along the lines of:

[math]\sqrt{2 \over 3} |Funny> + \sqrt{1 \over 3} |NotFunny>[/math]

However, after looking at XKCD #798(*), a far simpler answer comes to mind:
The last panel, by definition, is funny as shit.

(*) Can't post a direct link, since this is my first post

You did it the momen't you've laid your eyes on the last panel.

This would contradict the 2nd pannel making the comic distinctly non-Shrodinger :)

This depends on whether shit is funny or not. :P
