Damn, I clicked refresh, nothing there. Made my post, and checked again, and yours was there before mine. Alas, I deleted mine.

Anyway, at minute 18 of hitting refresh the "The comic will be up shortly" changed to "The comic will be up shortly!" at 9:28 it changed to "The comic will be up shortly! (within the hour)" I wonder if the delay was caused by all the refreshing/traffic of the page. At 10:08 the xkcd website crashed.

Worth the wait, though.

He did! He used the playpen balls!

This epic cycle has come to a brilliant close!

And just when I thought Black Hat man had become a trite one-dimensional character he goes and shows what it really means to be a grown up to those senators.

Epic. Probably even worth reloading an hour and a half for...

Yay for ball pits!

Quickly, assuming that we're filling it waist deep, what is the volume of the space, how many balls would it take the fill it, and how much would it cost for hat guy to do his task? (Bonus points awarded for other fun numbers!)

An epic end to an epic series.

Well done, Randall.

An unorthodox move indeed. Pretty epic comic!

wow. pretty cool.

xkcd: the only webcomic that can start with a battle between bloggers, trolls, and disgruntled political candidates, and end with a ball pit in the Rotunda.

brilliant.

"I'm a submarine!"

I laughed. This was a great end.

Even though he didn't give them his name, the reporters found his apartment. Then again, moving isn't so bad, is it?

PS: Epic comic Randall. Funnily enough, my computer crashed right before the timestamp says the comic was loaded. The anticipation killed me, almost as much as we all thought the Cloud had killed you. Apologies mate.

So worth the wait. Made my entire night.

If its waist deep, then the one jumping from the balcony might be a little upset.

BEST. COMIC. EVER.

Maybe it was from the anticipation building up, but I have to say this was the weakest strip in the series. I laughed a bit, but nothing compared to the other 4.

Piffle. I definitely had a delayed reaction, but that was only because my brain farted and didn't remember "Grownups" until about ten seconds later. Then, win.

epic. personally i liked the 4th one the best but you know.
anyways... it would appear dustin did a little nerd sniping and i took the bait.

the rotunda has a area of 1398 square feet which means assuming a 1.675 in radius on the balls with 67% packing efficiency it filling it to 3 feet deep it would take 246,668 balls.

just a little fyi more info to come when after i get some sleep and go to my 5 classes tomorrow.... = /

I would have thought that Doctorrow and Tron Paul would have had more of a vital role, considering close to half of the story featured them, but still pretty good. :)

Makes me wonder what would really happen if someone tried that. What would their reaction be?

I have the image of senators playing with playpen balls and I'm just like "awwwww." I never thought senators could be cute.

The inclusion of both red and blue playpen balls say "bipartisanship" so wonderfully, don't you think?

So who wants to go pull a Guy Fawkes with me, except with plastic balls instead of dynamite? And in the USA, not the UK.
