Truer words were never spoken. I remember many a comic, this one especially, that I had to do research to understand, but were still hilarious.

Imaginary? Perhaps you mean [imath]c \times \sqrt{-1}[/imath] ?
Try the Printifier for xkcd. You can now scale the comic between 50 and 150%.

I thought he meant since the penis would have to have imaginary mass to travel faster than the speed of light, although I don't really know any of the calculations behind relativity.

Okay, so, how does it change the scenario here if both participants are moving? Because, ignoring the relativity issues concerns for just a moment here, if one person is doing all the moving, chances are the other individual isn't exactly having the time of his or her life... :(

If both are moving at the exact same speed, accelerating at the same rate at the same time, then something tells me neither of them would have a good time. I mean that's like just... letting it sit in there... if they're moving in perfect synchronization. But hey, whatever suits you, I guess.

Unless they're moving back and forth in opposite directions.

Wouldn't that put them in different reference frames?

I didn't understand the relativity joke until I saw the alt text. First i was like "why does it matter that a twin is more mature? what is she talking about? what....ooooooooooh, snap."

The length contraction equation for SR is : L' = L sqrt[1- (v/c)^2]. If v = sqrt(2)*c then L' = L*i where L = 12 in. L' is imaginary.

Time dilation and length contraction have no meaning for something moving faster than the speed of light. As I recall the equations sort work out (the particles have real energies) at v > c when the mass is negative not when it is complex.

Then where did you get the "sqrt(2)" term?

Then where did you get the "sqrt(2)" term?

This:
batman7 wrote:The real question is: if a man with a 12 in penis is thrusting at sqrt(2)*c into a woman with a vagina 6 in deep, does he fit?

Although he did correct himself and say he meant c / sqrt(2).

Sorry, mistaken identity. I thought I was asking Batman7 where the term came from.

Also, wouldn't the mass have to be either zero or infinite (rather than "imaginary")?

When you click on the comic, you get the Wikipedia page on "Theory of Relativity". Is that a new thing?

I think there's one very important reason why sex and special relativity should never be mixed....
Length contraction :(

oh man, I clearly need to brush up on my relativity... I read Einstein's Relativity (the book, it's actually rather short) like two years ago, but I still didn't notice anything was up with this comic until two days later when my friend said something about not getting it until her boyfriend explained it... I was like "wait, there was something to get... ohhhh" *squee* now I think it's hilarious!

Well, there are Orgasms, and Andgasms.
A simultaneous orgasm is an ANDgasm.
ANDGasms are good.

There are also NORgasms. If that's happening, you are doing something wrong.

And then there are XORgasms where somebody's being selfish and soon to become an X.

Can I ask if you get it?
Michael says (8:27 PM):
yeah
Jai says (8:27 PM):
?
Jai says (8:27 PM):

There's this semi-hidden layer
Jai says (8:28 PM):
. . .
Jai says (8:28 PM):
That is *awesome* once you figure it out
Michael says (8:28 PM):
whats the hidden layer then
Jai says (8:29 PM):
Special. Relativity.
Jadyn says (8:29 PM):
Get it get it?!
Michael says (8:29 PM):
lol thats pretty funny
Michael says (8:29 PM):
yeah
Jai says (8:29 PM):
Isn't it awesome!!!

Jai says (8:30 PM):
Anyway, that's all

Just. Awesome. Had to share it with everyone. And when I say everyone. I mean only the people who would get it. Which was sadly only one. Besides me.
