Great job with the Sierpinski hearts. I can do triangles, but not hearts. I wouldn't know where to start. Maybe it would have been better if it was all in one big heart. But happy valentines day to you too, Randall...

...even though you're a day early. This is why God invented cron.

I love this one. I think Randall should have hid a rather phallic shape in there somewhere though. I always read the alt-text! Even on non-XKCD, it makes me excited, and I think [to myself, what a wonderful world...] that the comic is a drum-roll just waiting for the surprise- the alt-text- to be unveiled.

Well, given http://xkcd.com/95/ ("The Sierpinski Penis Game") I think it's appropriate.

Don't feel bad. You're not alone. Opera Mobile on my WinMo phone won't display it either. People who use Firefox prior to version 3 only see a truncated version of the title text, IIRC.

You can see the title text on your iPhone (as well as create a printable version on your computer) if you use my printifier.com
Try the Printifier for xkcd. You can now scale the comic between 50 and 150%.

I find these very useful: Common Errors in English Usage (web site) and Eats, Shoots & Leaves (book). You may, too.

Awesome. (Hand cramp much though?) I'm printing this and putting it on the wall near math class.

I don't see a pun though...

I'm a devoted alt-text reader! I said it out loud so my roommate could hear:

"Awww!!! I love you too, Randall Munroe!"

Isn't it wonderful to feel special even when Randall has no idea who you are? ^_^

It's not Valentines yet, it's Friday 13. Those hearts should be bleeding lifeblood, with some sort of machete through them.

Lovers know only violence on Friday 13.

How would I generate this programmatically? A Sierpinski Triangle is pretty easy to code, but I'm not sure where to start on a hearts variant.

I'm thinking that you can construct it recursively. Start with a big center heart, and, from there, draw 3 more smaller hearts (one above, two to the sides and below). For each smaller heart, do that same "3 more smaller hearts" thing. Mess with the rendering order so that larger hearts are more frontwards. Defining the offsets and scales for the smaller hearts might not have any good solution beyond a hand tuning (ugh). As for the rendering itself, pyCairo seems like a good bet.

Any more ideas? I want to see pictures in this thread in the next 24 hours!

Hearts? To go with the blood in the previous comic?
Otherwise, I fail to see the significance. Why would anyone want to look at hearts?
