I like where this is going... also, my appologies if this didn't come out right, normally I wait for other people to start these threads...

You know you watch too much Firefly when...

...you actually read the comic in Mal's voice.

Of course, I won't consider this a true reference unless somebody "gets all corpified and gross," or maybe a "[...] sudden but inevitable betrayal."
Possibly both.

I just noticed that if you go to the xkcd site normally, you get linked to The Race: Part 1... wonder how long that will last...

Yes, this comic is equal parts win and ecstacy

I shall take that bet, with my money on it being Gina Torres/ Summer Glau/ anyone other than his mother... (just noticed that I left off the quotation marks in the title, damnit)

AGGHHH! Awesome! "Use my space name" ::ULTRA GIGGLES!:: (is it just me or does that sound like a brand of diapers)
but holy shit, this is totally such good fantasy, just having the actors from Firefly around, acting like their characters again... :-) It's be SO nice!

He was kind a chunky for Dr. Horrible, but I guess he lost some weight for "Castle"?

You're thinking of Alan Tudyk.

I was waiting for him to say "This is your captain speaking..."

I'm just waiting for River to show up and beat them all at the last minute.

I think they need to save Tudyk for a later arc... something dealing with velociraptors, so probably no "sudden but inevitable betrayals"

You forgot the apostrophes in the title. It should be

Maybe this is a little too far of a stretch, but did anyone else think of Nathan's short lived show, "Drive"? A race across country for their own reasons... probably just me. Anyways, I think stick Cap'n needs stick 5'oclock shadow.

Cap'n Hammer-Tight sounds funnier to me. Just putting it out there.

Ah, but there's nothing better than a reference to the early 90's...

...hmm, Hammerpants...
...MC Hammer...

Yeah, I would.

Anybody else actually "squee" when you read that strip? I did, especially at the last frame.

I should stop being so sleep deprived when I visit the comic...

I think you might have been the only one to actually make said sound. Then again, I definately thought it... only in a much more masculine way, of couse... :)

This has all the makings of awesome.

If we don't get an honest-to-god actual real-life electric-skateboard-race-for-charity between Randall and Nathan, I shall be very upset.

Try the Printifier for xkcd. You can now scale the comic between 50 and 150%.

I find these very useful: Common Errors in English Usage (web site) and Eats, Shoots & Leaves (book). You may, too.

I wholeheartedly endorse use of the .torrent to acquire firefly, buy serenity on DVD but if fox are going to mess up then cancel a great show they don't deserve my money.

If it does come to a real race (which clearly it should) then for extra awesome points someone should hire a stage band to turn up and play "Battle Without Honour" as the contenderinos walk out.
