Tool tip: Where did you even get this wall? Return it there and stand it back up right now.

A little work in Photoshop would fix this. You really need to worry about the pictures that she takes.

Momentarily I thought it was a spiderwoman joke or something, not that I've ever seen spiderman/spiderwoman can stand up against a wall like that. What the punchline turned out to be is pretty good too.

I wonder if there's a way to make it as funny without actually referencing Facebook.

I don't think it would change anything to just remove it:

Actually, it's quite impressive for someone to take the picture in the first frame without photographing their own legs.

Clearly, this is the daughter of the Man who always fell sideways.

How else can one explain it?

Always wanted to take pictures like this. Problem is that I have really long hair, and the proper orientation of gravitational pull would be annoying to have to simulate.

It's a lot harder to erase with non-stick figures. The real world doesn't have a solid-color background...

Getting the wall isn't too hard, you can just lay some handles out on a concrete floor.

xkcd slightly worse winner.

I wouldn't need to resort to this I'm good at rock climbing but I need to do it more frequently.

At last! A Get-Of-My-Head comic. Only 3 hours ago did I upload a bunch of rock climbing photos to facebook, and the first comment was someone suggesting I had rotated the photo to make it more impressive.
Good comic. Me like.
Outdoor climbing photos are harder to edit, people tend to notice things like trees growing horizontally.

Was somebody taking the picture in the first panel? Or did the guy rock-climbing use a stand to have the camera to aim downward?

I am now really tempted to try to pull this off and add it to my climbing album... given that all the others show me in complete terror, I think it would be a nice change of pace.

It was also in some old strongbad skits. Just becuase it has been done before doesn't make it irrelevent.

Funny, though the alt text could be so much better.

I don't get it, how is she not falling. Even if she was restraining herself in some manner with invisible cables her hair should be falling forward.

This comic makes no sense.

OK: do this. Look at the second or third panel, and then look at the first. If you do it right, the first panel looks as if he's fallen off the wall and is surrounded by falling debris. It's how I first saw it. Anyone else?

Erm, the point of the comic is that the guy is just climbing on horizontal ground, it's just that the camera position makes it look like he's climbing a vertical wall until the girl comes along and shows the picture is a fake.

As an avid climber myself I have to say "get out of my head Randall!" Especially as my local indoor climbing wall has just undergone a major referb, so for a week the new walls were in bits on the floor and it was so tempting to take similar photos.

nb. That's not a rock climbing wall, it's the wall inside a shopping centre. I'm drunk, and they're cycling shoes. The Laneway Festival sent a few people up the wall that day.

(can we have a drunk shopping centre rock climbing wetriffs?)

I was sent a photo by a college friend which at face value looks like him sitting on the floor of a tube (underground) train. Then you realise all the other legs are at the top of the photo the wrong way up.

Photos that initially look boring but are cool are WAY BETTER than photos which initially look cool but are in fact boring.

"Why is that bird flying downwards?"

Smiled at the comic but did not laugh. Suspect it's really an anti-FB rant which I cannot concur with.

This reminds me of the Clerks cartoon...

The scene starts with them climbing up Leonardo tower, then a flower pot falls (against the "side" of the tower), zoom out and they were walking along the lower part of the L instead of climbing.

The most obvious part is the fact that it definitely looks like sideways ground instead of foliage on rocks behind him. That said, it is one blur filter on the background from looking much more realistic. But if you go through as much trouble as selecting the entire background, you might as well just paste in a blue sky.

The comic was pretty boring. The punchline was not that funny, and the alt ruined it completely. I hate it when Randall feels the need to explain the joke in the alt. Almost as bad as making the same joke again in it :(
