If said autistic was on the wrong side of the law: Harry Callahan.

To all law enforcement entities, this is not an admission of guilt...

You couldn't bring three more different movies together in one thread. :D

Also, a continuous beam would be vulnerable to thermal blooming effects in addition to the already mentioned problems.

Yes, of course. The exchange rate is well known. The difficulty is finding a bank to do the conversion. Take for instance the change in my pocket. I could go to any number of places and exchange dollars for pesos, for example, but the real value would be in changing it to Joules. However, you just don't see them being traded on the forex markets.
Try the Printifier for xkcd. You can now scale the comic between 50 and 150%.

I find these very useful: Common Errors in English Usage (web site) and Eats, Shoots & Leaves (book). You may, too.

Did anyone see the Whose Line is it Anyway episode where Ryan Stiles played Rain Man in the game Let's Make a Date? It was good. This comic put his voice playing that improv role in my head, for some reason.
"But my heart it don't beat, it don't beat the way it used to, and my eyes they don't see you no more, and my lips, they don't kiss, they don't kiss the way they used to and my eyes don't recognize you no more"

There you go.

What kind of person would threaten to kill an autistic person?

The kind who doesn't think that autism is a reasonable excuse for shotgun related mayhem.

Yes...the kind that use matter as ammunition instead.

Unless you want to use matter and energy interchangeably...

Actually, I do, but, sadly, I can't.

All wepons use energy. Even poison gas, which is launched by the release of energy, and releases energy to act on its target tissues or organs. My point was that we need a better term to distinguish between weapons that propell mass and those that emit photons, or (my favorite) imaginary forms of mass or energy.

With the exception of "cold beams", "black hole devices", and the like, which drains energy/matter as opposed to using them.
I am NOT a snake.

Opinions discussed are not necessarily the opinions of the people discussing them.

Spoiler:
The Columbine gunmen shopped at K-Mart for their ammo, and the massacre occurred on a Tuesday.

Sorry, no, thanks for playing. Rain Man buys his underwear at K-mart so that's where he prefers to shop for ammo. And I can't find the quote right now, but there's a scene in the movie where he's listing things that happen on particular days of the week or giving the day of the week for dates that inspired me to say "On a Tuesday". And Kim Peek's funeral was on a Tuesday.

Wow. Turns out my thought processes go in a somewhat different direction from yours. Who would've thought K-mart Tuesdays were the domain of both autistics and mass murderers?
