Sorry if i made a duplicate thread. But here is the link to the one in the coding section with the de-obfuscated code in a pretty format. All the codes are in there:

I'll add mine to a growing list of names that would like this version of the site to live on after today in some bookmarkable fashion.

this was awesome and the a/s/l responses are hilarious as well.

i was surprised by all the details like "cd fora" for the forums or the small text adventure including a grue.

I wanted to try '<3 thunder', but it wouldn't let me go '<'.

I also failed to import antigravity.

Still want to keep it, though :D

Yep, that is accurate. Chromakode has a decent bit of skill and he deserves congratulations for pulling it together as well as he did on such a short schedule.

I just wish I'd given him more time, any lack of features is my fault for the late planning not his.

Wow, that is very impressive; kudos to Chromakode! :D Any chance more goodies will be added later today after he has (presumably) had some rest?

Pure, pure awesome. But after looking at the source code, there's a couple of options I haven't been able to figure out how to get to work.

Code: Select all

                        if (!d)
                        {
                            c.print("This APT has Super Cow Powers.")
                        }

Code: Select all

                    $.get("/unixkcd/missing", {
                        cmd: b
                    });

Code: Select all

        if (pathFilename(b) == "alt.txt")
        {
            a.setWorking(true);
            num = Number(b.match(/^\d+/));
            xkcd.get(num, function (c)
            {
                a.print(c.alt);
                a.setWorking(false)
            }, function ()
            {
                a.print($("<p>").addClass("error").text('cat: "' + b + '": No such file or directory.'));
                a.setWorking(false)
            })
        }

Also, not that it matters, but I believe this line needs a boolean AND instead of the second boolean OR:

Code: Select all

                if (($.browser.name == "msie") || ($.browser.name == "firefox" || $.browser.versionX < 3))

Code: Select all

                if (($.browser.name == "msie") || ($.browser.name == "firefox" && $.browser.versionX < 3))

@Theme Park in thread and @QuicksilverJohny at Github was right. The operand should be '&&'. Now it thinks that my FF 3.6.2 is as subpar as IE!

Definitely! We've been working all night adding new features. We've even got wget and irc now.

We've both rather tired and logging out for the night now but we'll be back soon, hopefully with some new tricks.

Nobody has posted "cheat" yet. I discovered it when I typed "help" and got the message "that's cheating", after which I typed "cheat". But you just need to type "cheat".

Is it possible to view/shop the xkcd store from this line?

Kind of. You can get to the store ("cd store"), but it is presented as normal.

Am I the only one who noticed that repeatedly typing 'go west' gives you the lyrics to the Pet Shop Boys song Go West?

i'm disappointed that i can't do 'kill self' in the text adventure. :P anyone know if you can do anything once you reach the bed?

also thought i'd state the blindingly obvious since i don't think anyone else has: that you can do 'random' for a random comic and 'display ###' to display comic ###... but you probably already found them, and they're on that site that was linked...

(oh and while I love the idea in general, it doesn't let me scroll, and there's quite a lot of comics that need you to be able to scroll to see all of them...)

Use Page Up and Page Down.

Also, am I right in thinking that "6/M/Battle School" is a reference to Ender's Game?

Or use wget to fetch the comics; it puts them in a pane with scroll bars and everything.

Date is March 32nd apparently.
On the surface, in view, an unnamed member,
Underneath that, a flame amidst the embers.
And in that surge of flames ne'er growing fainter,
Lies the beauty of art in the young painter.

Cute Jailbait, belonging to DJorgensen!
