This is one of those times when I had to come here to get an explanation for the joke and sadly it isn't even that funny.

The porn name thing sounds fun, though. I'd be... Gandalf, the Yugoslav Partisan.

Edit: Would it help that the Partisans were led by Tito?

I already have a daughter, her porn name will be Silky Ryder.

I'm going out back right now to kill that damn guinea pig and replace it with a cat called Mister. And we're moving around the corner to Marshal St.

Mine would be Oscar Wildwood. I think that's a pretty good one.

Depending on what counts as a first pet, it would either be:

Copper Sunridge
Ritz Sundridge (wouldn't work as I'm a guy)
or Spot Sunridge

Yeah, in the UK it's more commonly "Pet name plus mother's maiden name".

I prefer this version, it makes me Cleo Berry. (I'm not posting my mother's maiden name as I do use it in a security question)

I suppose technically, Cleo was my mum's cat, so I should be Dylan Berry, which is more gender-appropriate

My brother gets Scipio Berry. (He was a history geek as a kid and named his budgie after Scipio Africanus)

Well I am another Brit that couldn't work out why 'Mister Rogers' was a mood killer for porn - unsubtle perhaps...

My name would be Whisky Humberston - not sure that is hacking it for a girl...

the problem would come if you had a daughter, they might call her Miss Rogers, which is actually a pretty good porn name.

I only recognised Mister Rogers from the ultimate showdown.

I don't recall what the first street I lived on was, but in the meantime, I'm Patch Bellevue. Which would probably work better if I was female.

markfiend wrote:Yeah, in the UK it's more commonly "Pet name plus mother's maiden name".

"Patch Self"? I think not.

I'm not sure streets work so well in the UK. I lived in a load of different places until the age of about 11 so you could take your pick from any of these and as you can see the street thing completely kills them:
Ginger Windsor, Ginger Arthur, Ginger Tollington, Ginger Bisham or Ginger Bickerton

I was lead tobra USCe that the popularity of porn names on the net, especially in chain email, was all to do with phishing:

"Here, tell me part of your address, and the name of your first pet"

Or (more common version in the UK):

"Why not let everyone on the web know your middle name and your mother's maiden name. Why not mention your date of birth too, if you fancy it..."

What harm could come of that?

I'd be Tom Lonsdale (by this rule, I won't give the UK one as it involves mother's maiden name). It's also not giving away any valuable information- I don't use Tom as the answer to any security questions, and we moved away from that street quite a while ago.

"B.J. Wood Thrush."

I am not making this up. The 4-year-old, Barney-loving me named our female springer spaniel "B.J." The street is in Warrenton, VA.

This algorithm absolutely doesn't work in Hebrew.
In Israel, it's very common to name streets after notable figures from the state's history... you can just imagine the consequences  .

It really doesn't help that I named my dog Snufkin.

No shit. My own Porn name would be "Newton Marshak", and my porn name would be "Spike Nachmani" - both of these last names belong to famous rabbis, I believe.

Did anyone figure out why Rogers St. specifically in Cambridge MA? is it the only Rogers st. in the entire US?

Depends how you define 'grew up'.

My initial image was worse, as I had confused Mr. Rogers with Mr. Ed. (Grew up in the UK, and never knew about either.)

I'm going to assume this is a troll and answer anyway.

Thanks for the explanation. Truly spoken, I had never heard of "Mister Rogers", either. I suppose it's a local US thing, largely unknown to the rest of the world (maybe except those countries where English is a primary language)?

It is nothing to do with English being a primary language, so I suppose it is US local. I had never heard of him until today, and I have been a native English speaker all my life....

"Harry Deepwood." Awesome. That's, like, classic pron material.

Presently, though, we live on Fowles Road, and no matter what you pair it with, that's not porn I'd ever want to watch.

Interesting options coming up

"Harry Deepwood" - yep that works.

"Silky Ryder" - I'm actually surprised some girl hasn't already used that. It's fantastic....

the pet's name translates to English as "Little" or "Small"; the street as "Oak" I believe.

maybe it'd work if I can fnd the right niche in the sex market

I got the joke, but why was Randall so specific about moving to Cambridge, Ma?

My porn name wouldn't work out very well...

Westy Cantitoe or Westy Girdle Ridge...

Neither sound very appealing... I could pick one of my college addresses and be Westy Kimball or Westy Winton...

I am going to stop now.
