I agree! I really wish that politicians would cite their sources! That would pretty much be the greatest thing to happen to modern politics.

This day comic = priceless (From Mastercard for those Wikipedian)

I loved it :P but I just imagined politicans saying: numbers at random parts of the speech (everyone will be WTFd) and then at the end saying numbers and random webpages.

Also, it would be pretty funny that the guy puts a "The neutrality of this speech it disputed" or "This Speech is too short, please help the people expanding it" on second tought it may be "This speech is too long..."

Just think of how this could apply to memes?

So I herd u leik Mudkips? [citation needed]
I shot a man in Reno. [citation needed]
ONE CAN NOT SIMPLY WALK INTO MORDOR. [citation needed]

Getting back on topic, I think it would be funny to go into some discussion completely unrelated to work, yet going on at work, and saying "This room is not a forum."

Also, what would happen if the constitution was vandalized right before it was semi-protected, and even more importantly, who semi-protects it?

Quite obviously if you signed the Constitution, you have adminship over WikiConstitution. I'm sure they keep a backup on their flash drives, don't worry.

It'd be nice if the government started citing their sources, and letting us in on their big top-secret intelligence crap.

One of my friends has a habit of saying things that sound reasonable at first but are really utter crap when you think about it. About 2 months ago, the rest of us just started saying "Citation Needed" whenever he says something that sounds doubtful.

I wish I could use a sign like that for my debates (debate team). When people get trapped they start to make stuff up, and if I don't have any definitive counter-evidence I really can't do anythng.

For the hell of it I looked up some quotes from campaign ads a few years ago. I don't remember much of the quote, but it was supposed to be from The Denver Post. I looked it up and the quote came from a few paragraphs in the opinion section.

It's very much like citing some well-spoken dude from the street.

Considering the amount of crap you see in political speeches it might be more appropriate to hold up Uncyclopedia templates.

"This speech is likely to be eaten by a grue!"

"Piece of crap warning"

"Satan loves this speech"

{{editprotected}} Look, [[User:GeorgeWBush]] changed the constitution just a couple of minutes before [[User:DCheney41]] came and protected it. If I didn't know better, I'd say they were working together on this one. Anyway, the current version, with "Bush totally gets to stand for a third term" in place of the twenty-second amendment, does not appear to me to have consensus. It should be reverted. If politicians had to cite their sources, they would be unable to become career politicians.

After all, politicians rely on emotion and not logic to get things done. [citation needed] The most useful emotion to manipulate voters is fear. [citation needed]

Think about it.

Just like Orwell's Big Brother, [citation needed] current politicians use fear and faceless enemies to ensure that their agendas can be followed. [citation needed] Agendas that seem more and more driven to ensure certain politicians remain in power and that the common people are kept much like mushrooms (fed shit and kept in the dark). [citation needed]

Orwell's 1984 should be required reading for everyone at the high school level, due to the startling comparisons between its world and ours. [citation needed] I tried to teach it this past year (inclusion English classes with the seniors!), but the school set had gone missing. I now suspect that it had been purposefully removed from the school (and copies from the library) to PREVENT easy access to the students. [citation needed]

Seriously, go read this book - ESPECIALLY if you are an American.
