I'm in Dallas, and I get the Earthquake/Tornado in both Firefox and IE (possibly because I'm using an ancient version of Firefox).

Nothing I say is going to be anything that hasn't been said before (but seriously, this is INCREDIBLE), except I noticed that in the Twitter comic, Randall has misspelt "aggression" (two "g"s, Randall!).

Look on the left "Stuff your eyes automatically ignore". I think that's the joke ;) .

I thought that was referring to the box on the side where Twitter has all its required links or whatever it's called:

Mine said "Chicago" instead of "Michigan", but other than that it was the same strip.

Seriously, I can't imagine how long it took Randall to build this one.

Either Randall is going to post these all somewhere (I hope), or he doesn't have to write any comics for about the next month.

Yeah I was actually going to post that earlier today but forgot in all the excitement... That's what actually caused me to notice the comic changing size (because I zoomed in so I could read it), and subsequently sent me to the forums to check out what was going on. I was expecting something though because I knew it was April Fools and I couldn't imagine Randall not doing anything for it.
It's an interesting paragraph.

I was getting the IE error one on my Windows 7, but after going to the Wikipedia page on "Umwelt" , I got this instead: http://imgs.xkcd.com/a1panels/9393a269f6aa06bfa6f461d8df8480ad44495dee7cd16fda1057e706e4070e56.png

Sorry for the long link, but I just registered, so I can't use url or img tags.

Actually @ Kredal, I also got the CNU one, but I haven't registered for the talk at CNU. I do live in Newport News. I think it's just location-based.

I'm in Missouri. In Firefox I got the Northern lights/clouds. But in IE I get the Missouri earthquake/tornado. Funny thing is that I would not have know there was any difference if I hadn't checked the forums. So I wonder how many XKCD viewers just looked at the comic and thought "hmmm." Then went on with their day.

This does make me think of Big Brother editing the news so that each group gets a selected version of what the government wants you to think. Of course, with the left wing liberal viewpoint of the msn, that's almost what we have now. It's just not tailored to specific people and groups.

Why is it that I keep getting this?
I'm on a school network atm, and I've tried it on a school computer on IE and on my iPad.

Is it somehow network related as well?

I love the CA / Dallas one. It's so true. I grew up in CA and moved to Dallas. Earthquakes were a shrug, but hearing tornado warnings go off gave me pause to think. Likewise, some of the locals were surprised that I thought nothing of earthquakes.

I also get the Dallas one, and I'm in Dallas using Firefox and IE.

Here in DC, I get this on IE and Mobile Safari. On Firefox, I get the earthquake/hurricane one (which is an entirely accurate description of the DC area following last year's earthquake).

I'm in SC
Chrome - turtle
Firefox - snake
IE - Georgia tornado

Dude, I'm in Charleston. We know earthquakes and hurricanes, but not tornadoes and certainly not snow storms.

Oh wow, I had to just register to post that I can't believe Randall actually made one for Maxthon.
I do indeed get that rare Maxthon one when I visit, seems to not matter which engine I use too.

If anyone wants to check it out it's maxthon.com
I'm pretty sure most of the popularity nowadays is probably more due to the android version though.

The best April Fool's jokes are still being dissected on April second.

Edit: Am I terribly selfish for being disappointed that there's no regular Monday comic?

Can some people from California post theirs? I am curious what they get instead of "People from California can't handle natural disasters".

Had to sign on to post this in NYC: we get the blizzard disaster in IE, The Northern Lights in Chrome. And the Snake in Firefox. To view the whole snake you need two monitors, This is a screen shot, might need to zoom in to view correctly:

Just wanted to add something that has not been mentioned so far - at least to my knowledge:
The german comic "Charilift" states
June 1948: In response to the soviet
blockade of east germany, the western
allies construct the berlin chairlift.

I don't know if this is a joke but the Soviets never blocked East Germany - why should they? And given they did - why shall the western allies supply East Germany? To get them to love the soviets?

Ok what really happened was the blocking of West Berlin by the Soviets in order to get the western allies out of Berlin. But as you all are educated enough I don't have to say much about it. Was answered by the Western allies by the Berlin Airlift and given up on inefficiency several months later.

I get the CBC/Hockey/Aurora joke for Chrome from Winnipeg, Canada
I get the Tunnel/Black hole/whatever for Internet Explorer from Winnipeg, Canada

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but ...

running Firefox 11 on Windows 7 and viewing full-screen on a 1680x1050 monitor, in the UK I first got:
Image
refreshing or force-refreshing that tab doesn't change anything. However, now that I've visited this forum thread and gone back, opening new tabs gives me:
Image
I see the same image in Chrome. IE9 gives me the BHG voigt-Kampf test, as does Safari on iOS5 on an iPad 2 and an iPhone 4S.

By the way, viewing the OP of this thread, I see the "I found a snake but then forgot to stop" comic, but the last panel I see is white beret guy going "whee" with the snake coming out of a Portal-like mousehole. Is there anything further to the right?

yeah...when you have it in the browser and zoom all the way out, you can see a mirror image of the first panel with out the text making the snake two headed.

And judging from your second image, SC isn't important :[
I'm going to make my own version!
It will go like this:
Guy from SC sees snow out the window and freaks out saying that everything is going to be closed the next day. Girl from Illinois (or somewhere else Northern): "psh that's nothing...blah blah blah." 5 or 6 months later (because if we get snow, it's during January or February): Yankee Girl is dying from heat stroke while sitting in a freezer.

Note: sorry North Carolinians. This won't work for you guys. Y'all are at least halfway prepared when snow hits.

This really was an awesome Aprils Fools gag.

I hope Randall never publishes complete list of the comics so no one could be sure if they got them all.

And from Finland I got these generic ones already posted on this thread:
Spoiler:
Iceweasel on Linux and Firefox on Windows:

Chromium on Linux and Chrome on Windows:

IE:

Android default browser and IPhone 3.0 (IPhone using User Agent Swithcer on Iceweasel)

Edit: On the web page alt text is this one
Umwelt is the idea that because their senses pick up on different things, different animals in the same ecosystem actually inhabit very different worlds.

On RSS- and Atom feeds the alt-text is slightly longer
Umwelt is the idea that because their senses pick up on different things, different animals in the same ecosystem actually live in very different worlds. Everything about you shapes the world you inhabit--from your ideology to your glasses prescription to your web browser.

Did you first go to xkcd after viewing the questionable content site?

Referrer counts in the cartoon selection algorithm and the one you saw first has been documented as caused by coming from questionable content.

I think it was documented as coming from at least one other webcomic as well.

Yes. That's always been there.

Or is it just the same "No Plugin Would Ever Make this Work" image as some other browsers?

Real ale is very much a British thing; you don't get it anywhere else I've been in the world. It's top-fermented, cask-conditioned beer, served at cellar temperature and drawn from the barrel by hand (in other words, the bar staff have to actually 'pump' it --- there is no compressed gas involved).

None of this means that you have to like it, of course. But I do! :)
