I've tried it with Seamonkey in Puppy Linux and Firefox in Xubuntu and got the Black Hat Man hooked up to the lie detector while being asked a hypothetical question about a turtle both times.

How do you know it isn't happening all the time? Would you even notice? I've heard that Google does this a lot, and your search results can vary dramatically by location.

I tried looking at the source with the view Page Source option, and I got the page source for the Reviews comic instead. So I tried Save Page and opened the page with a text editor and found three images (could be individual panels) with nonfunctional URLs. When I load the saved file in my browser I get no images.
