Honestly, I was surprised that a person could fall into a plane engine by accident. I assumed Mal Reynolds must have planted the banana peel.

Also, holy shit it's been 10 years since Firefly.

I don't know that it's just hypochondriacs. It could apply to almost anyone. I don't know how true it is (too lazy to search for it), but I read that in 2001 the death rate for heart disease GREATLY exceeded the rate for terrorism. Then think of the people in 2002 who were afraid to board a plane, but had no problem eating a Big Mac.

Or just think of the oft-repeated statistics for car v plane crashes. People are funny when it comes to risk assessment.


I read that as statistics about who wins in a crash between plane versus car. It seems unnecessary since the plane probably has a N-1 odds of winning. The one being occurrences in the Fast and Furious movies.
