Blagojevich skips own trial

Postby 22/7 » Mon Jan 26, 2009 7:24 pm UTC

That's right, he isn't going to his own trial. Surely he's got someplace more important to be? Of course he does. The View.

Article.

My favorite part, however.
Rod Blagojevich wrote:But Blagojevich has been able to take some solace from his predicament. He told the network that when he was arrested on federal corruption charges last month, he was comforted by thinking of other jailed leaders, such as Nelson Mandela, the Rev. Yes, you're just like Mandela, King and Gandhi.
Totally not a hypothetical...

I can't believe that Burris took the job.

"Hey, how would you like to be tainted with my horrible legacy of corruption and also be used as my giant raised middle finger to the state of Illinois?"

"Ok sure! But make sure that you exploit my race as a means of making the nomination stick despite everything you just said!"

Oh man. I love Blagojevich so much. I heard something on the Daily Show about him threatening the owner of a hospital for financing or something. That guy's a riot.

Yeah, it makes the St. Louis news interesting. Oh look, the fuck up from Illinois is on- not that we were doing much better with our fucktarded son of a fucktard, but he's gone now.

I'm just glad Blago isn't married to Palin. Between them I don't think anybody would ever understand a thing their child would say.

Did anyone else see his interview with... Katie Couric maybe? where he wanted to make a point of the fact that when he was saying those things, it's not like there was a woman on the phone?

Wait what? It sounds very sexist but what is it even supposed to imply?

He cursed a LOT when asking for money.

Also, I saw a quote in the paper the other day (I don't have a link) that he said something along the lines of "if they can do this to a governor, they can do this to any Illinois citizen." Yeah, cause every Illinois citizen is impeachable. That makes sense.

That women have sensibilities. That you don't want to offend. Cause you'll give them the vapors.

There's something you have to understand about Mr. Blagojevich. He's an idiot.

Seriously? He said that? Dear God, soon any Illinois citizen will be able to be punished for violating the law! What kind of world are we leaving our children??

http://www.theonion.com/content/news_br ... st_getting

SPRINGFIELD, IL—Hoo, boy, if you thought Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich had finished soliciting bribes from state officials, shamelessly defying federal investigators, and generally acting like a megalomaniacal lunatic, you'd better think again. The crazy bastard, sources confirmed Monday, is just getting warmed up. "I will not relinquish my position as governor, and I will continue to fight these outrageous allegations," Blagojevich said Tuesday, referring to the multiple counts of fraud and extortion being leveled against him, and hinting at a range of other insanely illegal activities you wouldn't believe if he told you. "I know the good people of the state of Illinois support my complete and total exoneration, and look forward to my possible 2016 presidential bid." As of press time, no one could believe the stones on this guy.

Seriously though, I dont think he understands how serious everyone else is about it.

Blagojevich is a caricature of corruption, but you've gotta love the ego on that guy, shaking hands with the shallow tools on The View and other morning shows while late-night talk shows only make jokes about his hair. It's not just the senate seat thing - really reading up on this guy makes it pretty clear how thoroughly dethpicable he is.

I loved Ben Affleck's impersonation, but with the exception of the "special comment" portion, thought that the writing was utter crap. There are some basic concepts of sketch comedy that SNL doesn't seem to understand.

I think the fact that even the Democrats in Illinois didn't like him speaks well for them. On the other hand, the GOP were doing their best to defend people like Delay.

Unless stated otherwise, I do not care whether a statement, by itself, constitutes a persuasive political argument. I care whether it's true.

I figured I'd just throw everyone in as long as I was at it. Should have included 9 SCOTUS Justices, too. Don't have time to count all the representitives in state-level congresses.

Does nobody notice that on Keith Olbermann whenever he talks about him the words "Blagosphere" are at the bottom as the little title he uses? Weird.

I dont think he hates democracy, but its pretty reasonable to think that the large majority of the people mentioned are corrupt. They all take money from special interest groups and then vote on bills relating to those groups. For anyone else, that would be bribery.

Right. Not all of them are as brazen and delusional as Balgo, but you're not going to make it very far by just sticking to ideals. Yes, that does include Obama.

EDIT: Also, I don't like democracy. It's the worst form of government. Except for all the others.

No, Emo requires that your hair be long enough to cover approximately 3/4 of your face. It must also be dyed black, and preferably be greasy looking. If your hair is naturally black....Iunno, I guess bleach it so you can dye it black again.
Dear xkcd,

On behalf of my religion, I'm sorry so many of us do dumb shit. Please forgive us.

Love, Aikanaro.
