No. The Musicals did not cause the depression. The depression caused the Musicals.

I listened to a man explain that slavery and oppression produced great music and affluence and freedom produced Disco. He seemed to make sense, at the time.
It does make sense. It is the human imagination. We are sometimes able to see a thing for what it is, when, it is far away. I was told, "We can't see the Forest for all the trees."
Cutting down the trees is not a good way to get a better view of the trees. It does work, sometimes.
I knew a man that used a gun to shoot the tops out of the trees. He stood on his deck and shot the tops out of the trees. They were growing up and blocking his view. It worked. He had a very nice view.
