Mine comes from back when I thought GameFAQs was a cool place to discuss the higher points of videogaming o_O

I decided to create an account so I could post on the forums. This being the first site I really signed up for, I spent about an hour trying to come up with an original and witty username as i despised the idea of being GenericUser193 or similar. However every time I tried to submit the new user form it responded with "log in error: This username is already taken" (apparently my username choices were not infact original)... After seeing it so many times i decided to try loginerror, and of course it was available. It's sort of stuck with me since. :)

I chose my username, because whenever someone had a metal gear solid related question in school i was able to answer it.

My Latin teacher calls me Levi, and I suck at coming up with names.

I'm thinking about Incantator (Latin for wizard/magician/seer) or Vordraiahinelm.

I made mine up for a story character. Unfortunately, I didn't see how it sounded like "Man fail" then. Oh, well - I've stuck with it since. Other places, I also call myself Invisible, which may or may not turn out to be an anagram for "Yoghurt".

So, yeah I actually took the time to read all of the posts in this thread first. Do I get geek points for that?

Anyway my name is taken from a Stephen King character. Not Johnny Cash, or the Will Smith movie, but that ambiguity kinda always amused me. In that I enjoy correcting people and sounding annoyed while I do. The King character shows up in many of King's stories and often under different names in the Stand he's known as "the walking dude" and he has at least two different "proper" names, those being Walter O'Dim and Randall Flagg. My favorite of the stories he's in is without a doubt the Dark Tower series. The opening line of which is: "The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed."

I've used this name for many things on the webs, but I'm also known by iron_man_in_box.

That's me that's all. IDK if that makes me more or less creative than anyone else, but I like to read King.

When I sign up for my first internet account (Yahoo! Mail), I wanted the screenname "mathkid." That was taken, so I settled for the suggested "mathkidus." (The "us" is from the US of A).

Later, when I moved to Gmail, I found that "mathkidus" had already been taken. Now, I;m a fan of both math and science. since "sciencekidus" took too long to type, I chose the username "scikidus."

It's been that way ever since.

My username is a grammatical anomaly.
It started in another forum, where there was this guy called "Han". Now, Han is Swedish and means He, but could also be used as Him in spoken Swedish. Thus it was made for misunderstandings: "I spoke to Him the other day." "Who?"
I wanted that kind of name, but He wouldn't quite cut it. Mostly because of it being less than 3 letters (I actually started to write "<3 letters" there...), but also since it lacked the versatility of the Swedish original. "She" was then thought up, and this being the fora of the webcomic that gave us this:

I had decided. So feel free to mock it. That's what it's there for.

I have lots, and if it's not some roleplaying character's, I just think of some fictional character I like.

Number Eight is one of the humanoid cylon models in Battlestar Galactica. I love the series, and Lt. Valerii's a great, torn character.

For anybody not liking to talk to a toaster's serial number, "Boomer", "Sharon" or "Lt. Valerii" are all fine.

I got mine from this short story called オシャベリ姫. Princess Oshaberi is the main character. I only ever had time to translate the first half or so, but the story was pretty interesting and weird considering it's obscure 93 year old Japanese literature. I got to the part where Oshaberi wanders into the land of sparrows, and things are easy to translate because there's paragraph after paragraph of birdsong:
オシャベリ姫 wrote:「ピークイ、ピークイ。ピークイ、ピークイ。クイッチョ、クイッチョ。クイッチョ、クイッチョ。チョ、チョ。チョン、チョン。チョングリ、チョングリ。チイヤ、チイヤ。チャルイヨ、チャルイヨ。チャルイヨ、チャルイヨ」

Someday I'm gonna finish translating it, clean up my translation, and post it on the internet.

I previously had a username that I made up in like 4th grade when I got Battlefield 1942 and needed a username. Then, I grew up and realized I didn't want a 4th grade username anymore, so I got this one.

I found it by flipping to random pages in Finnegan's Wake, which was pretty effective. I had a pretty nice list after a few minutes, and I liked this one the best.

My username came from DOTA. My clan was participating in Cal-O and I needed a name that matched everyone else's. So I took the name of the character I played (Pugna, The Oblivion) and added the clan name in front. Giving, Got.Oblivion.

Awhile back, my friends and me would use the word hardcore for everything. It was pretty much a joke and also there were tons of words that people made from hardcore, especially music genres, grindcore, metalcore, screamcore, etc etc.
Basically ninjas are awesome so I came up with ninjacore and have been using it for pretty much everything.

My username is basically a composite of this and this. I was looking for a phrase that showed my fascination with the imagery and sound of the second video, as well as my feeling of...hmmm... preparation for a metaphorical real-word liftoff? I hit upon this phrase after re-listening to the countdown section of Space Oddity and a few Apollo Program capcom recordings. Also nice is the fact that there are few enough Google results that I am easy to find.

Overall, I'm quite pleased.
