I think I won't give people points on the day they are lynched since that seems a tad unfair. I will give people quarter points on days after they're lynched, though, but won't count days they're dead and don't fulfill their objective against them. The aim of that is to encourage long term strategising.

Right now the two people who seem most lynch-happy are Az and CF. I honestly don't think Az's vote for Mega at the start was that unusual - people always random vote at the start of games. However CF's bandwagoning that vote was, to me, very suspicious:

The main thing that makes me wary of Azrael is his totally random vote for Jar O' Jam. Right now I think they both look very dodgy, but I'll hold off voting for now until we hear more from them/get more analysis.

Until then, Az does seem fishy but I have not had time to read through everything with a critical eye and therefore I am nowhere near ready to vote. Although I agree a vote needs to happen today, I'm not one for haphazardly voting.

People need to stop posting things like "we should always lynch somebody" without any reasoning behind it. This is not your typical mafia game; you can't say things just because they're usually true in mafia. Anybody who says "we should always lynch somebody" should be under suspicion for being the altruist.

The only one who benefits when we no lynch/no kill is the bastard. Therefore, it's in everyone's best interest to lynch, except the bastard, regardless of role.

Well, sure, if we don't lynch we give the bastard a point. But if we lynch a townie we give at least 6 people a point - 4 mafia, townie killer and altruist.

What makes you think the 4 mafia get a point if you lynch a townie? They don't. The only way you get points is by fulfilling your objectives - mafia don't care if you lynch a townie or not, to be honest - each one just doesn't want you to kill them.

And anyway, that makes it in more people's interests not to no-lynch, as more people benefit from it. Lynching someone means you have a chance at getting a point, while lynching no one only gives the bastard a point.

Reading through the thread, just why the heck are people voting Az? I didn't really see a reason from the start and everyone since is bandwagon-y - "I'm voting 'cause we should vote someone and others are voting Az" type votes. This doesn't help us AT ALL.

I understand there was some confusion at the beginning and discussion between strategies, but I think that's kinda cleared up now. I honestly don't see what is so "bad" about Az to warrant all this voting for him. I know day one sucks because we often don't have info, but still, I am more interested to look at the bandwagoners, which I shall later today when I have time for a good analysis post.

I don't think it matters if Az is scummy or not, or if there's an argument to be made against him. The only thing that matters is that there are enough people out there who think that they could get a point for themselves by lynching Az.

Really, to me, it doesn't matter what side wins this one.

For the purpose of mafia kills:

Only people currently in the mafia may gain a point from a mafia kill (otherwise the point needed no skill, which isn't the point of this game). Points gained through a mafia kill will be counted with the next days points. You may only gain one point per day, unless you have specific targets (e.g. pred/suc killer/protector).

End of Day One. The mafia may now discuss their strategy and PM me a list of nominated next mafiosos and ONE target to be killed.

Tigion is found dead. He has no identifying features, except the head of a tiger and the body of a lion. He must have been a normal person. In addition, in investigation of his calendar, he had "Be Mafia" scrawled in his diary under his to-do list. He was a mafia member yesterday.

On investigation, Azrael was found to be in posession of a small notebook with a page entitled 'Who was mafia before me?', which has been left blank. In addition, he is found to have been keeping a gun down his underwear. He was the predecessor killer.

A new mafia of three members has been selected.

Why would I lie about this? As seen with the whole "jester" thing in these games, a person who says "lynch me" gets lynched. Easily. With having dealt with and commented on this several times, do you think I'm stupid enough to say "lynch me" and hope people don't jump on it, if I'm lying?

Except Nebu's role list was accurate in that game: Everything in the game was on the role list, and he made no promises as to the quantities, to the point that people were questioning how many of the roles were actually in the game very early. Here you're suggesting that Nebu has lied to the players by omitting a drastically different role from the list, and I don't buy it.

Anyways, ignoring the WIFOM, I think that lynching you will get me a point.
