I've been watching on Hulu, and am about half way through season 2,
I can't help thinking it makes a decent metaphor for America's current economic situation. In theory there's a change in power, but no one seems to want to cooperate, let alone change things.

Is anyone else sort of confused by the show's continuity?
The "next time" clips are, at least for the first season, half serious, but there's also stuff that seems to get forgotten about for a while. Like Tobias's stay in prison gets interrupted for two episodes, and doesn't seem to get resolved.

I feel guilty, because during the show's original run, I didn't fully understand it, and didn't watch it. I didn't realize how great it was until I saw the series syndicated on CBC. I can't help but think that I'm single-handedly responsible for the show being canceled.

Just finished season three.
You know, it's really too bad the show didn't run a year or two later so it could have intersected with stuff like The Guild, "webisodes" like the Office has, and Hulu. The more I think about, while it's a good show, it seems like something really hard to sell as t.v.

I am trying to keep from getting my hopes up, but it's not working very well. I am especially excited about the rumored plot of the movie.

Anyone else watching season 4 on netflix? I'm at episode 5 now, and so far I've found it faster, more confusing, and less funny. I think it's just because they've seemingly scrapped all their old jokes/references and are building up new ones that will pay off in later episodes. And I've watched seasons 1-3 probably 5ish times and they've gotten funnier every time, so I've forgotten how not-the-greatest-thing-ever the episodes were the first time I watched them.

But dang, Tobias has to be one of the greatest comedic characters of all time.

Unlike some of the reviews I've seen, I thought it very much felt like a fourth season of the show-a little bit of a dip in quality, but that's not uncommon for comedies as they age. There were some clunkers in there (the first couple episodes were a little off, and I don't know about their casting choices for young Lucille/George Sr), but it was generally funny, and regularly hilarious.

Arrested Development is definitely one of my favourite comedy shows with a continuous plot, and very high on that list at that. A friend just told me that she binged on it and is currently going through withdrawal.

Which reminds me: I need to actually finish watching it...

Yeah, I found Seth Rogan distracting, liked young Lucille though.

I'm glad they made this season, it's a fun experiment, but the characters aren't as funny when they can't interact with one another. I'd like to see them go back to a standard format if they get another season / film.

And I can't picture myself just dipping in. I can watch any episode of S1-3 and love it, but with S4 I've got to choose to watch one character for 40 min. Still a good show though.
