这种事对我并不新的。中文根英文不近。因为多人不想做每个星期这么多时间学外语,所以用外语时有一点困难。中国人学英文很多,可是英文老师,教授很少。外国人学汉语不太多,也学中文的雪品只还可以。

很難相信這裡竟有中文帖。 大家的中文都出乎意料地好!! 我學了日文就快5年了,但是也不夠你們寫中文寫得好,很佩服!

It's really hard to believe that there's a Chinese practise thread here. Everyone's Chinese is beyond my expectations! I've studied Japanese for almost 5 years now, and my Japanese writing is nowhere near how well you guys can write Chinese! Lots of respect there. :D

I grew up in Hong Kong and live there!

Hmm, and, no bad press on thread bumping, right? By 10 days?

Spoiler:
Hi everyone! I'm an ABC, so I know how to speak Mandarin, but my reading/writing sucks...
What I know of Chinese only comes from my parents, so I can hardly understand what people are writing here.

And it seems like everyone here uses traditional, but I only know simplified since that's what we're taught here (there's a Chinese school for ABCs where I live. Our parents run it, so it's not that much of a school.)

If you check through older posts, also, his readers and him have managed to also decipher the "bogus kanji font" that's used in a lot of tattoo parlors. It's not just tattoos either, but the general misuse of Chinese (and occasionally Japanese) in the West.

He also links:

But those are just kanji/hanzi tattoos in general, no mention on which ones are right or wrong. KF

Kind of off topic, but I saw a guy with a tattoo of "you" - meaning "to have".

哈哈。居然在这里也能看到汉语。我在学习英语,你们在学习汉语。
有什么问题可以问我。我说的绝对是普通话,而不是地方方言,例如上海话,温州话,粤语等等。我希望大家学习汉语的时候学讲普通话,大家都能听懂的。

[quote="Meteorswarm"]我學了中文七年了,可是我的老師很慢慢地教。我很喜歡學中文,所以我今年學AP中文,可是我不打算考AP考。很多人說中文很難學,可是我覺得並不難。中文的發音比英文的發音差不多,而且中文的語法不難。學好中國字一點兒難,可是越學越容易。有人寫得會中文嗎?請你們說一說!

Yes. Mao Ze Dong switched China's language and literature to simplified because tradition was too hard. This way, more people could learn Chinese.

那你是北方人呢?中国的方言跟别的语言一样。应该学习学习,以后就会用别的方言。一个北京人不能跟一个福建人一个一个讲方言。他们讲普通话。如果北京人相讲福建话,就读书,跟老师学习,练习练习,跟学英文一样。跟学吴语,粤语,客家语一样。

I have to say that you are so interesting and diligent. Anyway the term "吴语" is abstract, actualy, it includes many branches, maybe the "温州话" is part of it or the "越语".

Blah, maybe I should get Chinese input software...

Two years is really awesome. And yes, the intonation is key. 8) How was it like in Shenzhen? (I'd imagine a pretty high-tech city?)

If whenever you don't understand something, ask your roommates to explain. Great opportunities for learning!

Yeah I took it awhile back. It was pretty simple (but I'm a native speaker :P)

The reading part tested a lot of articles (as in one _______ chair or cat or dog, etc. fill in the blank) and interjections (words you add at the end of a sentence to express certain emotions).

The listening part was slightly tricky (if only because I tend to lose focus sometimes), so make sure you pay attention to the whole selection.

What operating system do you have? It comes standard on Windows Vista and 7, you just have to click a box to add it to your taskbar. Dunno about others.
