Yes it is a game, and some people find it fun. As for it being a trap (I assume that's what you meant to type) you need an invite to play so the link goes to mine.

Oh and you get sick of it really quickly. It lives up to it's name.

All of the BBC games are awesome;
CDX
Seven Noble Kinsmen
Death In Sakkara

They are mostly interactive stories, as it were, with loads of puzzles thrown in there.

If you get the balls going at different speeds, it's not all that difficult.

But, my one on the right keeps on speeding up and becoming unmanageable. *shakes fist*

I found that game to, considering their scoring system, to be rather easy. Ofcourse once you get past the two minute mark ... yeah it's tricky :D

After significant research on the topic, I have concluded that Desktop Tower Defense is far superior to Onslaught.

I'd agree with that. The one's you can complete are a lot better, otherwise it has an unsatisfying "endless and unconquerable" feel to it.

Here's another tower defense game with an "interesting" twist (get it "interesting" :D )

My problem with Onslaught is the difficulty curve. There is no challenge from 1 to 90, 90 to 110 are OK, and then you have no chance at about 120. No fun.

I'll try yours out this weekend.

P.S: Can anybody beat my 5-star hard? :D

[edit] Yes, I'm very addicted to it.

I somehow just managed to get through the hard level of incubus, with 3 stars. That thing is evil, but at least the music for it is awesome.

Edit: Or dream bubbles, rather; I can't even think straight after playing that.

Agreed . . . I just keep going back to desktop and tweaking my strategy a little. But I did like Vector . . . earning interest is a great feature that would be good to see in desktop.

Battle for Wesnoth.

Absolutely brilliant free, open-source turn-based strategy game. A really nice piece of software (requires download+install).
Generally I try to make myself do things I instinctively avoid, in case they are awesome.
