I had a fantastic and beautiful shawarma a few months ago at a nice restaurant in Brooklyn. Should've taken pictures.

Also, I'm currently eating a sandwich made from this:
Image

Prosciutto is positively made of win. I put it on fresh whole wheat rye with swiss, which seemed to have drowned out the flavor at first, but the saltiness of the pork really shines through at the end.

Why do I always wander into this thread around lunchtime? Maybe it's a good thing, given my less-than-even eating habits. The gyros looked lovely, and I don't normally eat them.

Not quite food pr0n, but it's interesting "food" photography.

Except that if it's decent absinthe, you shouldn't need the sugar.
However, that water dispenser is sufficiently steampunk to make me drool a little bit.

The love I have for sweet tea, knows no bounds. Though I really hate it when people put flavorings in tea. Leave tea alone. It's amazing as it is. Don't ruin it by putting peach or raspberry flavors in it.

yes! this!

Though sometimes some fruit in the bottom of the glass is nice. A lemon slice, an orange slice. Something real to keep it a kick, every now and then for fun.

I don't care for any fruit flavorings in my iced tea. Just make it with tea bags, water, and sugar. Nothing else. One time I went to a friend's house for supper and a ghost hunt (at a favorite site of ours) afterward, and they served up peach-flavored iced tea. It wasn't too bad, but I still prefer plain sweet iced tea.

And those apple turnovers look orgasmic. I need to force my parents to make some. I wonder how they'd taste with the vodka pie crust recipe we got from America's Test Kitchens...

My great-grandmother on my dad's side used canned biscuit dough. My dad had made them one time, and they were excellent. Just pop open the can, take out a biscuit, roll it out until it's twice its diameter, and half its thickness, place a spoonful or two of apple filling in the middle, fold in half, seal edges, and deep fry. NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM...

If your fear is due to a certain urban legend, then yeah, it's irrational. Adam and Jamie even proved it was improbable.

However, after having eaten them myself, then I can understand fearing them on any other level. There's just something wrong about canned biscuits. And that something is everything.

It seems one of the most important keys in making food pr0n is using a short focal length (I think that's what it's called - only a very narrow distance from the lens is in focus).
