Anybody got a preferred time for the meet up? I know it's still a while away, but I'll be getting a lift back to Aberdeen afterwards and my dad wants to know what kind of time that'll be.

I'm fine for all day on Sunday 31st, but if the plan is picnic we'd want to meet nice and early to get the most out of the day. I should be alright with whatever everyone else wants, anyway.

How about meeting at about 12.30? That's probably a good time for lunch, right? (Also I can't guarantee I'll be awake in time to make it earlier

) I thought a good place to meet would probably be in front of the fountain (the one near the play park and the ice cream/burger stands) and then we can decide where we go from there. We still need a back up plan for if it rains that day too.

It's usually bright and sunny by about ten if it's going to be a nice day, although I'm not suggesting we meet then because I doubt I'd be in town at that time. As I said, I'm fine with half twelve, and that still leaves a lot of time to enjoy things.

ok. I'm looking through lists of things to do to see what we can get into for pretty cheap that will still let us eat or own food. I have a big list of tourist attractions on one site, and Sainsbury's made it into the top 70... I think I need a new list.

The. Festival. Is. Awesome. I'm a naitive to the the city and there really isn't anything like the Festival I have ever experienced. I'm hoping to be working at the Edinburgh Book Festival this year for presicely that reason.

And yeah, bring a coat, but chances are you'll be out in your warm coat and the sun will come out. Weather's like that here, all four seasons in one day.

It's on at the same time as the Fringe festival, all the way through August. There's readings and cheap books and talks from famous authors and everything, it's brilliant!

Hmmm *converts from Farenheight to Celcius* hahahahaha!

Sorry, but the temperature, even in summer, doesn't often get above that. Though occasionally, we get temperatures around what would be the low 80s (F). Oh and wind chill doesn't help.

I will possibly be in Edinburgh in August, but even if I'm not it should be pretty easy for me to make it down there.

I was thinking about our meet up at the end of this month too. I can't think of anywhere where we'll be allowed to take our own food inside, but there is the bandstand in the gardens and those little concrete shelter things with benches in them, so as long as it isn't too windy, we should be able to still picnic in those, right?

I like picnics. :D

The only thing I have been to see in Falkirk is the Falkirk wheel. Edinburgh has lots of fun things to do, unfortunately I am not very good at thinking of them right now.

I may have mucked up planning for the 31st, as my work shifts just got changed (less hours! No more stupidly early mornings or staying in apparently one of Edinburgh's top 70 tourist attractions until 10pm!) And I'm now supposed to be working 3-8pm on Sundays. I'm going to see if I can have that day off because I was already supposed to have a Thursday off that week before I got rid of that shift completely... I feel sorry for whoever gets to work out my holiday form.

The videos are going to have to wait until after I'm back from my holidays because my dad decided he was going to try and fix the computer and ended up dropping it so now it won't even switch on. In the mean time we're using my sister's computer (because my dad couldn't get the internet to install on mine) which means uploading videos would probably take about 4 days. I wish I was joking, it's taken me over an hour to get onto the fora to post this comment.
