As soon as I made my earlier post my mind started to think up Trek-Mafia roles. I think Mafia would be the Romulans. Borg would be a cult, or maybe the worm-things from that one TNG episode where the guy gets his head phasered off. Bridge crew would be masons. Science officers would use sensors to determine alignment or something.

My Freshman English teacher did that. Offered extra credit for going out to listen to his band. I never took him up on it because I was pretty sure they would suck, and I am not a good liar. I don't think that would be your problem. I think your problem would wind up being that EVERYONE would tell you exactly what they thought of your band, and then there would be a slew of vicious modkills and it would all end in tears. Either way I think it's a bad idea.
