Yes, there's never much of anything to go by in Day 1, voting is more impulse. Once people die, and you observe patterns, you can start to make a connection. But on Day 1, without stuff that happened, people dieing or being targeted with any kind of night actions, we can't do much. So, I'm never sure where to put a vote on day one, because of this. :?

yeah, I suppose that's true. I still say that starting the bandwagon was an odd choice, as there wasn't even much talk about it before Marzi voted. I feel like it was really brash.

Brash. I don't think either of us have seen just what sort of nonsense that can be cooked up in this game.

I'm stating that my vote is anything but brash in comparison to a few of the things that could happen in a game of mafia, but that it could also be seen as brash on its own.

In short, it's useless banter.

keeneal: I voted Entropy in order to spark discussion about what I felt was a pretty antitown action. I had more reason for that vote than there is for most other Day One votes, honestly. And it's interesting that you're suspicious of me for "starting a bandwagon." Is a single vote a bandwagon? I don't think so. I also don't recall saying "Let's lynch Entropy right the balls now."

But I DO recall this post.

this is true, but I still think that it was a bit too quick since there was no discussion at all prior to the vote. I mean, to me that vote was very clearly something that people would immediately support rather than think about. Seriously, not agreeing with you would look seriously scummy as there is no world where burning resources is pro-town.

keeneal, voting at mostly-random early day 1 isn't scummy; without much information upon anyone you can't help but do it, it's a good way of provoking discussion, and people are hardly likely to bandwagon upon such a lightly-placed vote. The fact that a bandwagon was started makes me look much more wary at the bandwagoners then the bandwagoner. And NaR isn't making himself look any better right now:
Not A Raptor wrote:To be honest, I do most of these things on a whim. I hardly ever think things through in a game, and I follow who looks scummy at the time instead of game-long trends. I voted for Entropy because it looked like a good thing to do at the time. I hopped off because it looked bad to stay. I kept quiet because it looked like I might put my foot in my mouth as I'm wont to do half of the time on any given day one. I speak up now because I want to head this off before momentum sets in.

I haven't done much. To be honest, nobody has done much. I'll happily vote Marzi for starting that Entropy business if you care for me doing so. I hate day one.

Meta-gaming and saying 'oh i always bandwagon' is a very poor excuse for doing it. In general, jumping on/off bandwagons willy-nilly is a very big scum tactic; town want to have their own opinion as the general consensus is always corrupted by the minor few who know exactly who they want to lynch. And on top of that offering to bandwagon someone else if the town wants it? I don't buy it. My vote's gone from being a half-hearted FoS with extra weight to a serious concern.

Well, I don't have much evidence to suggest that I'm pro-town unless you want me to make a bloody day one roleclaim. Suffice it to say, I know Rabbi Vole and want the town to win as much as anybody else in it. It's hard to defend oneself on day one when nothing's happened at all without resorting to metagaming. If anything, metagaming me will reveal that I'm a haphazard townie and that more often than not, the times when I manage to slip under the radar are when you had best be examining me.

I just don't know what you want me to fucking do, so sod off already.

How I feel about the village so far:

People who don't post enough:
VectorZero, Rakysh, Poprocks, the Sloth, JoeyJo0, Kitsune, Knightshire, Adacore, Mega

People I don't particularly like:
NaR: I've already stated about him
Brooklyn: he joined the wagon and gave no talk of his vote, too. He just hasn't hopped off it yet.

Those who, while talking, have not said enough for me to get a read:
Elderberry, Octopus, Dark Loink. And KrazyNerd too, I guess.

Those whose minds seem to be in the right places:
Marzipan (Mind if I call you Nougat still? I'm old-fashioned like that.)
dedalus

Other:
Entropy. I don't know what to think, as he definitely sparked conversation, which is a good thing on Day1's, but he still might have nefarious purposes. But he's on everybody's watch list so far, so let's see what develops before making any further judgments.

To be honest, the reason I'm not posting much is because I'm a bit confused. Entropy is burning things, NaR is freaking out, people are bandwagoning and jumping off bandwagons and getting mad at people for bandwagoning. And on top of that, it's Day 1, and I don't know how much is role restriction and how much is just people acting strangely for the heck of it.

*sigh*

I agree, there isn't really much to talk about. Everything is about people blaming people for bandwagoning for jumping off the bandwagon because some guy made a joke. I don't want to make enemies at this stage of the game with no real leads.

Honestly, Entropy seems to be being a bit too crazy/jokey, to the point where I'm beginning to suspect it's part of his role. With that being said, it's not springing THAT well in my mind, IGMEOY.

I'm also somewhat surprised that Rakysh is ready to jump down someone's throat for simply compiling people into predefined groups. However, NaR's taking a fairly light vote somewhat to heart, which is contributing a lot to the way I'm feeling about him. As such, my vote's definitely staying, at least for now.

Rakysh, McCaber didn't really point any fingers. He just stated how he felt about most of the playerbase thus far.

As for Entropy...unvote in case I haven't already. He's clearly insane, but whether he's scummily so remains to be seen. And we can always lynch him later if we need to. I'm gonna see how the discussion proceeds before deciding where else my vote should go.

Guilty as charged. I'm mostly jealous I didn't get to play with the string and the wall and ... other ... stuff which no longer exists. Bah, i say. Bah.

People sparking issues:

Entropy: crazy as hell, could be the role, could be the player; I don't think he's a good D1 lynch due to him supporting discussion merely by his presence (he most reminds me of NaR in futuramafia - jesterbomb. Hopefully it won't ever get that bad.) He should be reviewed tomorrow.
NaR: touchy about being voted. Usually is.
BXM: jumped on a bandwagon. Usually does.

Everyone else is acting pretty normally for D1.

I don't know who to vote for at present.

Unvote

This game has gotten really juicy really fast. I would (eventually not now) like the mod to explain what the non-existent box of stuff did.

I need to reread, but I am pretty sure there is enough for a solid day 1 lynch.

Oh and I am almost thoroughly convinced Entropy is either a lyncher, a jester, or scum. That may change on reread though.
