HI All,
This is what I do:
http://www.MethodMeetsMadness.co.uk
It's mostly folky-pop with a lot of finger picking on a Spanish guitar (far nicer than an accoustic for my taste) with the occasional foray into rock and even comedy metal for when I feel like making some noise. You can prob tell from my username that Crowded House are the big influance but I don't sound like them. If anyone can tell me who I do sound like then I'd be interested (other than "Some guy that can't really play sing or write music!)....
Current project: redoing The Planets by Holst but with my own songs e.g. a song called "One Message" for Mercury, a song about a beauty for Venus etc. It's just a way to put together an album with a bit of a narrative about it.
Chas.

Not much of an accomplished musician, and I haven't really done much. The stuff I write is all silly little comedy songs, but I'm in the mood just now for covering some amazing accoustic stuff I hear.
I know the singing isn't amazing, but meh, I enjoy it

you quote a lot of rock influences on your site. i think you should check out elliott smith. his sound is a little similar to yours but obviously more developed as he was a professional musician. unfortunately he died not too long ago.

Started a one man rock band, called The Bleeding Food. Pretty much me and my copy of Renoise 2, with me singing over what I've tracked. XRNS only for now, no MP3/OGG or anything yet.
http://forthesystem.com/media/node/468
warning: may sound pretty bad, but I'm working on that... The second song is realy good, even though [or because of the fact that] it doesn't have me singing at all... The first song is rather good IMHO, and the third is decent.

A little background: nerd camp at Duke got cancelled halfway through because too many people got Swine Flu (rhyme unintended). Everyone was really upset, and, as a result, I wrote this. It's really not that great at all, but I figure I might as well post what I've got.

yeah no it was a nice camera. A $2k Sony. I was just surprised considering the acoustics of the room, the fact that my tone isn't.. god-awful, even though it's coming out of an amplifier that's been played with all-the-knobs-at-11 for around six months. i mean the speaker's pretty much blown, but i'm not sounding heinous.

Hello.
I am secretly Nick Gunzburg. I create music of an unbound genre produced in a bedroom full of wires and folk instruments. It tends to range from quirky acoustic songs to electronic spaceship melodies to noisy fx boxes throwing up all over my 4-track cassette recorder. It's usually some mix of those.

I changed my signature to a self-advertisement awhile ago.
(Narcissism, and such)
I don't actually have much of my really good music on myspace, basically because I'm almost never "finished" with a song so completely that I can show it to the world (or at least, my few friends) But I'd appreciate it a lot if you listened!
My newest three songs are covers.

I'm a part of a band called Agronica, some of you may remember us from #xkcd, when I posted our cover of Teardrop by Massive Attack ( it's still there - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMtgwpZ5pvA )
Well, we had our first gig at the club a couple of days ago, it went quite well.
We played a bunch of our stuff and some covers, including I'm Impressed by They Might Be Giants and Christmas Song by Dave Matthews Band.
Here's a playlist with almost the whole show recorded by one of our friends - http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A52247D0235DFCB3

Re: Post YOUR music here (Merged : The Rainbow Correction)
Ok, don't judge me but:
Camp Value
Story in a sentence: this song was made a couple of years ago by me and my friends for a music project. It was silly and stupid, as was/am I.
Enjoy! But the audio quality is shit so, to make any sense of it:
DEFINITELY LISTEN TO WITH LYRICS:
Prologue:
Nathan: Nathan.
Mr Firth: What are you doing?
Nathan:Wooden Block!
Daniel: And vocals...
Nathan: And vocals.
Ricky: And, Ricky, the Vocaler and metal polygon soloist and beat assistant
Parsa: Parsa, Bass...
Daniel: Farham GET OUT!
Parsa...and vocals.
Hamza: Hamza, CYMBOL PLAYA'
Everyone: *Laughs*
Daniel: Daniel, synth guy....
CAMP VALUE LYRICS:
Hamza: That guy is SO GAY!
Ricky: He's not gay! He's just got a lot of Camp Value,
Hamza: Oh I see...BREAKIDOWN!
UGH! UGH!
Nathan and Ricky:
Hair cream, lotions, meringue pie!
Things that are bought by that guy,
With slicked back hair and a tigth white shirt,
With a feminist girlfriend whose called Gert.
This guy is straight, but in a queer WAY
People mistake him to be GAY
For first appearances you couldn't calculate
It's not gay it's...
Camp Value.
Rude would not describe his style,
Fixes his hair for a while,
His favourite colour is salmon pink
He sees a guy and gives a wink.
This guy is straight, but in a queer WAY
People mistake him to be GAY
For first appearances you couldn't calculate
It's not gay it's...
Camp Value.
Everyone:
Tight trousers, tight trousers, tight trousers, tight trousers, tight trousers, tight trousers, tight trousers! Parsa: Tight trousers....
Ricky: I LOVE YOU GWENAVERE!
Hamza: OOOH YES!
Ricky and Nathan:
His parents think he's really weird
He waxes his legs and dyes his beard
He goes to the shops, just to buy
Some chocolate sauce and you know why....
This guy is straight, but in a queer WAY
People mistake him to be GAY
For first appearances you couldn't calculate
It's not gay it's...
Camp Value.
Ricky: He's got a new girlfriend who's called
Nathan: DAWN!
Ricky: They seat together and eat...
Nathan: CORN!
Ricky: Turns out heres not really...
Nathan: GAY!
Ricky: But heres the chorus any...
Nathan: WAY!
Nathan: RAVE!!
Ricky and Nathan (Superstyling):
THIS GUY IS STRAIGHT BUT IN A QUEER WAY!
PEOPLE MISTAKE HIM TO BE (Hamza joins in) GAY!
FOR FIRST APPEARANCES YOU COULD NOT CALCULATE
IT'S NOT GAY ITS!!!
Parsa: (Quietly) Camp Value...
Everyone: Applauding and cymballing.
Yeah I'll let you work out which one I am. Also, yes, I know I was odd, yes I know I still am, yes I know there is so much wrong with this song. But honestly, if you can find a better rap about gay people written by 14 year olds, feel free to post it here. Actually come to think of it, don't.

I made this album that I'm really proud of even though my actual performance skills definitely need some work. They're mostly "pop" songs which I recorded over a week. The artist name is Jackson Family Estate Says "NO" and the album name is =_=. I'm not releasing any lyrics because I have no confidence in my lyrical skills. The domain belongs to a friend of mine who let me use it, and he also helped set up the site for me in a really short time period so that was really great. I'd appreciate feedback because I want to get better at stuff even though I probably won't do this ever again due to busy school life.

I humbly submit Hunting Bears.
In various incarnations we've been around for a while - since I started drums in... er, 2005? Now we're a four-piece alternative/indie band with leanings towards bands like Radiohead. We're in the process of finding potential gigs having just missed the entry date for a big battle of the bands.
Hope you like

The vocals could use some more rhythm in them, as well as groove. It would be really interesting to make you vocalist do his parts in style of Morrissey

Hello,
I just finished an album for an annual project I do dedicated to the year. I recorded this one on a Tascam 4-track cassette tape recorder and a Boss Micro BR 4-track recorder. They are rough and quick songs about my year as a 23 year old.

Well, I have a few songs on youtube. I'll show you some of what I consider the best. They aren't brilliant, but considering it's me playing all the instruments, I'd say they're acceptable.
I have some other ones with me singing, but I'm not particularly fond of my singing voice (think a squeaky Nick Cave and you've pretty much got it.), so you'll have to look for them if you want to subject yourself.

Got some songs on youtube as well. Acoustic guitar and singing, I'd like to believe that I sound a tiny little bit like my two greatest influences Damien Rice and Glen Hansard

Since you seem to take music seriously I'll look upon your videos with critical eyes.
It's quite terrible. The guitar playing is too sloppy and you attempt more than you can manage. The synchronization between picking and fretting is particularly poor. This is something I'm laughably bad at myself so call me hypocritical if you'd like, but instead of trying so hard to put on a good show take a few steps back and add less to the music. That's the mark of a proper musican: knowing what not to play. The guy with the grey strat is posing so much that everything turns ridiculous. The other guy is better but still way cheesy.
My impression is that you're more interested in being cool famous rock stars than musicians. The only time a person is allowed to act like that, in my opinion, is when they offer something truly exceptional.
On the upside I'm betting many would think you're cute. You could certainly ride quite far on that fact alone. Is that what you want though?
Harsh? Yes. But this is just my opinion, not the whole world's. It deserves mentioning though that people tend to be excessively nice towards one's face and that's not always what's best. My tip would be to review your intentions for playing music. Ask yourself if you would still play even in a world where guitars, rock and roll, and everything else in music were considered more pathetic than attending a combined furry/sci-fi convention with your mom. Anything less than a true love for music will fall apart, especially in the blues-rock genre.
No offense to attendees of Space Furry Family Con 2010 intended.

Re: Post YOUR music here (Merged : The Rainbow Correction)
Always looking to gain new listeners, so I'll throw this up here.

We're a rock band from in and around Worcester, MA. We try not to focus too much on one type of rock, and we've got some folkey stuff, some heavier stuff, and some poppy stuff, hopefully something for everyone.
Listen for fun, listen critically, either way let us know what you think!

Feel free to leave your comments!
And now we're on MySpace as well after we've recorded "Under The Burning Sky" in studio - myspace.com/agronica

no lyrics/vocals on it cause it was recorded in a garage with a video camera. sound came out oddly good.
I would like to amend this: now go to this webpage. Which has two songs from my band, and this next weekend will have songs recorded that are MUCH MUCH cleaner. that shit's REALLY ghetto yo.
uhhhh fuck.

What? Their guitar playing is fine, they're actually talented. And the singer is pretty okay too. The style and show are not for me, but it's a decent band.
