So, I'm thinking I might be able to do this this weekend, although maybe not if it's going to be early hours of Sunday morning GMT time....we'll see.

For my voting/nominations:
V for Vendetta
A Monty Python film

Man, so I should pay attention to this thread or something.

I suggest a bad movie night, something like Super Mario Brothers, or something like that.

If not, I say Yellow Submarine!

*found this thread in total randomness*

Awesome idea! Apparently I missed the last two movie nights, but I'll be free this weekend (except on Friday, when I'll be gone until...about 11 pm UTC/GMT -6).

I nominate...
•The Princess Bride (which I've only seen half of)
•The Fifth Element (I've heard it's awesome)
•really, I'm up for just about anything

If it's not too late to nominate, I'd like to suggest Bladerunner. I've read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick last week, the book from which the movie was made, and it was pretty good. Also, that kind of Sci-Fi movie would probably interest most xkcdians.

Well considering it's been the subject of two comics so far (362 and 571) I think it probably would. I've yet to see it, so I'll put my vote towards that.

If we can make it this weekend, I may be able to plead for a bit more late-night computer time from my parents. School starts Wednesday, so next week may be bad.

Sorry, I didn't know how long it would take to prepare the videos. 10PM greenwich time seems good, and then again at 4AM for the americans or anyone else that missed it. In new york time, this would be 5PM and then 11PM. I can push it back if you want. . .

Edited: changed time

But right after the movie ended, the first music video was for "Where Is My Mind?" You know, the song that was in Fight Club.

It's FateTM!

EDIT: I figure I may as well nominate something of my own. Lost Highway -- partly because it's awesome, partly because sje46 needs something he can find on YouTube.

He also gave Blue Velvet one star. I admire the man, but we ain't exactly on the same page. (Of course, I fully understand his reasons for the rating, I just disagree with them. I'm a bit of a David Lynch fanboy...)

You can nominate any movie you want to see here in the thread, and sje46 will take all nominations and eventually put a poll up. Poll results determine the movie. He informs the thread when nominations for said week are over, links to the poll, and tells you when voting is over. He basically runs the thing.

We've already done:
-The Princess Bride
-Firefly Marathon
-Pulp Fiction
