So, it seems that I have a concert to go to that evening. It's the graduate performance of the degree I'm about to enter, so it's very important that I be there. This means that I have to be just south of the city, in the university, at 8pm. So the earlier, and the nearer the uni, the better for me.

When do you finish work, Hal?
I knew a woman once, but she died soon after.

It wasn't to be. Dream called me when he got out, but because of a back-pocket malfunction I was sitting on my phone and didn't get the text until he was already at his front door.

Dream, it was a pleasure to meet you, however briefly. Just to let you know that you vastly over-paid when you left, and I intend to give that back to you in decent single-malts the next time we meet.
