Song Identification!

This is so vague, I will be amazed if anyone can figure it out, but..

The song is from the 70's or later, it's reminiscent of "Take On Me", the band has been described as a one hit wonder, the song uses the word "love" a lot, and it's lyrics are highly repetitive.

Anyway, I have a song I want ID'd as well! They play it at work all the time (I'm pretty sure on the "songs you heard 2347298347298347 times in the 90s/early 00s" playlist, rather than the "songs you heard 2347298347298347 times in the 70s/early 80s" playlist), and it's by a...band? Male singer, and the lyrics I catch whenever I hear it are something like "But if I get lost after 40 days...", something about the Old World, and "pick me up".

I don't know any of these, but I have one that's more specific, I just don't want to bother to google it, even though I could find it that way. If anyone knows it off the top f their head, it would be nice, but I'm not asking they go to more work then I did.

At camp two years ago I always used to hear it. Male singer, I remember one set of lyrics. "Take a shower, shine your shoes. You've got no time to lose. (something else) Go now, you are forgiven."

The "guy" was Paul McCartney, the band was Wings, and the song was "Silly Love Songs".

The year was 1976, and Wings released their album "At the Speed of Sound".

Ok, I need any info on this Latino song.

It's a really old song I think, but I just recently heard a house remix of it. A woman sings it, and the lyrics are in Portuguese, or in a similar language. The verse starts with her singing "Fugiiii..." (I hope that's the right way to spell it; the "G" in "fuGi" is like the J in the French name "Jacques"). The chorus is sung by more people, in unison, and they sing "Na na na na naaaa na na na na naaa". I think the rhythm is around 130-140bps. The chords are something like this:

(Am) Na na na na (G) Naaaa Na na na na naaa (F) (Em)
(Dm) Na na na na (Em) Naaaa Na na na na naaa (Am) (Am)

I tried googling a lot, but it's incredibly hard to find a song in a language you don't know. If only there was some kind of musical search engine where you input notes, it would make my life so much easier sometimes!

As for the chords, it starts from Gm actually, not that it's important anyway. The problem is, I'm sure that the singer in this video is not the author of this song - I've checked her site and she only has 3 albums, one of which is "Remixes", and the song is not on any of them; I'm guessing she just sings it at shows, like a lot of other musicians include covers from time to time. The thing is, I cannot understand the words, seeing as I do not speak Portuguese, and I cannot find the original author anywhere on the internet. I can't even find a second version of this same song! Does ANYBODY have any clues how to find it? Normally, I wouldn't be so committed to finding a song, but it's for my girlfriend and all... You understand (It makes me look bad if I can't manage to find a song on the internet - after all, you can do EVERYTHING on the internet )

This thread reminds me of a beautiful love story.

Once upon a time I heard this song. I didn't hear it again, but on that one listening it was love, or intrigue, of the highest nature. After three years of failed searching I finally, completely by accident, re-found the song. Me and the responsible band have been very much in love ever since.

That song, as it turns out [for those intrigued] was "Poodle Rockin'" by Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, as publicised by the wonderful, but late John Peel.

Aah help help help! I just heard a song on the radio which I liked about two seconds ago but they didn't say what it was, and I couldn't understand the words.

It was a male singer, with acoustic guitar backing in a sort of repetitive arpeggio kind of thing, and I think some of the lyrics were "to lean on" or something, but the singer kind of mumbled them.

I have one that I need help with.

Simply put, it's the song that's playing in the bar, Lou's, in Fight Club right before the first time that they use the basement there. There's a thick guitar part and a few vocals, but nothing that I recognized. There aren't any coherent lyrics that I could decipher.

It is NOT "Where is My Mind" by the Pixies. That song is during the credits and not the song from the bar.

The vast majority of the soundtrack is done by the Dust Brothers and credited as such, but this song is definitely not by the Dust Brothers, nor is it credited in the movie at all. I did a few web searches and nothing came up, so I'm guessing the only way to identify it would be if you recognized it by ear.
