I love Kasabian!

in that case i'd seriously check out the mark ronson album, it's got loads of versions of awesome songs on it, the kasabian track being a highlight (and it's got the original singer on it too)!

it's by just the police - sting was in them, but the difference is, the police = awesome and sting = rubbish.

As of the moment I am listening to the last seconds of Reptile by Static-X, and now the song changed to Rope around my neck by Pain. It is intriguing to listen to Reptile while surfing the xkcd fora to say the least :P

(I definitely recommend putting this album (He Poos Clouds) on repeat and taking a leisurely browse through the xkcd archives; I'm not really sure why, but they seem to go quite well together!)

I just started the following playlist for the second time tonight:

Múm - Green Grass of Tunnel
Björk - All is Full of Love
Sigur Rós - Njosnavélin
Amanda Kravat - Green (You Can't Touch Me)
Cursive - The Recluse
Brand New - Je-sus
Brand New - Millstone
AFI - The Missing Frame
Stellastarr* - In the Walls
Snow Patrol - Hands Open
Sigur Rós - Sæglópur
The Music - Turn Out The Light
Stellastarr* - Moongirl
Sigur Rós - Popplagið

It's a mix I call State of the Kim because it uh, pretty adequately describes my recent and current states of mind, in no particular order. I usually only put one song by an artist on a mix, but I decided this case warranted some multiple selections.

Phenriz, Soapy - it's a shame, because they actually have fantastic lyrics. You could learn a fair bit of German pretty quickly, though, being English speakers and all.

Now playing: Victoria - Requiem. Goddamn, it's marvellous.

on the way home from a party, riding my bike late at night, my playlist went a little something like this
-tainted love - marylin manson
-FIGJAM - butterfingers
-teenage werewolf - faker
and disarm - the smashing pumpkins as i came in the door.
the ride was almost better than the party, which was great fun. the best thing about people going overseas for ages is the parties they throw just before they leave.

VNV Nation - Distant (Rubicon II)

Sweet Jeebus I love this song. I had to stop myself from just putting it on loop for an hour straight.

The paths that I once tread have all but gone
Only embers now smoulder where bridges once burned
I feel alive and yet I fear what may happen now
I know I can't return

And I hear me say again "Oh let me not return"

Damn the illusions of redemption
And the hopes that held me here
I will oppose all that would befall me
With this rage inside of me
I'll defy what I would become

This solitude and anger that do battle inside of me
Will always guide me to the answers that I know I may not see
They are the bonds that hold me tighter
They are the chains that weigh on me
One day, I know they will be gone.

Can I start again? Erase this pain?
By casting doubts into the waters
Asking judgement of the sea

Though fortune, you guide the fools
I have no wish to be free
Until I am gone

This album has been on repeat for me for the last 3 or 4 weeks. I love it so much. So sosososososo much. I bought the Many Lives -> 49 MP promo single on ebay and it had a Final Fantasy sticker and I was far too excited. I love music obsessions so much. The Final Fantasy one is following from a major Grizzly Bear one where if I started talking about them I couldn't stop until I had gone through every song and explained why each one is perfect. Ah the temptation. I am currently listening to a very long playlist I made yesterday called "Nice Things" currently Scare Me Sweetly by BC Camplight which is now being followed by Like Gold by Erlend Oye.

Nomeansno - "Slugs are Burning"

Dance with me cause I'm a little devil
And you're a demon too...
Every breeze that whistles through the desert
Calls a mating tune
See the cattle tremble in the stable
Cause they know their time is soon
Hear the jackals cackling in the dunes
Slugs are burning, the wings are turning
As the vultures cross the moon
Slugs are burning, the wheels are turning
And the world is turning too

For those who were talking about it earlier, I too like Kasabian quite a bit. I haven't heard the "versions" album yet, though, so I may give it a try.

Right now I'm listening to "Hollow" by Hem. Such peaceful music....

Although I've never learned what they are saying. Apparently it is from an old Polish tv show.
