Black hat or White hat?

Postby RahulKolasseri » Wed Oct 28, 2009 12:13 pm UTC

Which one would you be?

I think I'll most probably be a White hat, so i don't have to fear the authorities being on the hunt for me or anything.

I believe the proper answer to this question is "no".

It doesn't matter because nobody will believe you. I don't wear hats anyway.

If you have to ask this question, chances are you'll be neither. Not trying to be mean, just saying.

I don't wear hats. My hair looks awesome enough for me.

As for actually being a hat, what? Do you claim to be a sentient hat? Tell us (and/or your therapist) more.

Wizard Hat - obviously.

[imath]\hat{\text{You, sir, name?}}[/imath] Hmm. I don't look good in a hat. And frankly, it doesn't make sense for me to be an operator. If I would be, I'd be non-linear and all sorts of nasties.

The only way I'd be even remotely workable if you first of all acknowledge my vector nature, and then take my time-derivative. [imath]\hat{\dot{\vec{\text{You, sir, name?}}}}[/imath]. I might even be hermitian in that formulation, depending on the Hamiltonian.

So is 8 posts the new record for a completely non-math-related thread to degenerate into math jokes? :D

I think it's very close to the limit where it's still justifiable. The thread must be derailed enough so as to avoid disrupting any actual serious conversation, and it takes a certain amount of posts to get to that point. Though the exact point of justifiable execution of a math pun varies with the nature of the thread.

If you ask this question in a public forum the only answers you are not going to get are "black" and "white".

You'll find that most people are at least light colored hats.

I am the definition of Grey hat...some of the things I hacked are definitely on the shady side of the law (i.e. my neighbors wifi). But I never use my hacks for personal gain ;)

Black hats look better, but metaphorically I'm more of a white hat. I don't wear hats though. This is a weird question. My writing feels choppy. >.>

but wouldn't hacking your neighbours wifi be so you can use it, ie. personal gain
and anyway, the definition of black hat is hacking to cause damage, a white hat defends against black hats and no hats or gray hats just hack for the challenge (or for personal gain, like being paid for a hack)

Really?
It's not gruesome unless you realize the fact that meat is the chopped-up remains of animals that once had lives, emotions, etc.
The site is literally a list of SFW pictures of people wearing hats made of meat.

It would probably smell gruesome after wearing it for a few hours at room temperature...
