I want to see someone do that. But I'd imagine corn, for example, would be easier. If yellower. Ew. Yellow.

Wow. You actually have me contemplating dressing up as broccoli now. That's just not right.

October's a big concert month (well, the end of the year is a big concert quarter, really).

These are the ones I'm planning on so far:

10/17 Electric Six at the Middle East
10/21 Mum at the Somerville Theatre
10/22 Rain Machine at the Middle East (it's the TV on the Radio vocalist's side project, this one is a maybe, well, a probably)
10/28 Simian Mobile Disco at the Paradise

And here's the full list for the rest of the month:

10/16 The Airborne Toxic Event at the House of Blues
10/17 School of Seven Bells at the Paradise / Electric Six at the ME / Gaslight Anthem at House of Blues / Aretha Franklin at the Citi Performing Arts Center
10/18 The Avett Brothers at the House of Blues / Lucero at the ME
10/19 The Revival Tour at the ME / Vertical Horizon at the Paradise / Sian Alice Group at the ME
10/20 The Ravonettes and the Black Angels at the Paradise / David Bazan and Say Hi at TTs
10/21 Mum at the Somerville Theatre / The Disciplines (w/Ken Stringfellow of the Posies) at TTs / Sister Hazel at the Paradise
10/22 Spinto Band at TTs / Broadcast and Atlas Sound at the Paradise / Susan Cowsill at the Narrows Center for the Arts Fall River / Bill Maher at the Wilbur Theater / Rain Machine at the ME / Far at Harpers / Califone at the Brattle Theater
10/23 Bill Maher at the Wilbur Theater / Keb Mo at the Somerville Theatre
10/24 Asa Brebner at Pa's Lounge
10/25 Vic Chestnut at Somerville Theatre
10/27 La Roux at the Paradise
10/28 The Whigs at the ME / Simian Mobile Disco at the Paradise
10/29 King Khan and BBQ Show at the ME / The Misfits at Showcase Live
10/30 A Place to Bury Strangers at the M
10/31 The Luxury at Church / Guster at the Orpheum / Pinback at the Paradise

I'll get the November list and post it when it's getting closer, same goes for the December list.

The biggest one in December is The XX on December 4th. If you haven't heard them yet, they are amaaaazing and I highly recommend listening to Basic Space here http://cowbell.fm/track/144886-the-xx-basic-space

Let me know if any the shows strike your fancy and you'd like some company, or if you're interested in any of those I'm going to this month1

Rochester as well. Webster if you want to be more specific.
And yes, I'd like to drive over to Boston to meet you guys eventually. New years is convenient because it gives me little obligation to spend time with my family (Christmas is for that) and it essentially gives me a long weekend.
That's only if you guys are planning something in the first place though.

Hello everyone!

I've been hanging around with Natraj a lot lately and meeting all sorts of wonderful people around the forums. I haven't had a chance to exchange contact information, so I'm just going to make this post and flail around and hope I find the right people.

HI! It's Faith! You can PM me here!

What, is there no NH meetup thread?
Nothing is going on in NH, right?
Well, tonight I'm mostly likely to be at this bar:

McMenemy's Pub, Portsmouth, NH

to sing celtic drinking songs and to drink.
I"m taking a bus up from Boston most likely. In the future if anyone wants to join me, we can crash in my friend Bex's house. And by anyone I mean 'the one person who will drive me and want to sleep in the same spare bed as me'.
good times.
If you're already IN new hampshire, just come anyway. Ok then.

Python-A-Thon returns to The Brattle Theater!!!!

November 7th, ALL DAY!

Python-A-Thon

(Episodes of “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” run between films. Special PYTHON-A-THON all admission pass $30 General Public/$25 Students & Brattle Members (valid student ID/Brattle membership card must be presented at door).)

As a celebration of the 40th anniversary of one of the greatest comedy troupes of all time, The Brattle is pleased to present our second PYTHON-A-THON! This Monty Python marathon features four of their comedic assaults on reality, plus to kick it all off we’re screening the not-official-but-might-aswell-be Python-icized, version of THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS. AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT is the filmic version of many of their most memorable sketches from the immortal Monty Python’s Flying Circus. LIFE OF BRIAN is the blasphemously hilarious story of Brian, an unwilling and incompetent prophet during the time of Jesus. MEANING OF LIFE is an episodic film that explores, in a typically surreal fashion, the ‘big questions’ of life, death, sex, and “wafer thin mints.” And, the crèmede-la-crème, a Quote-A-Long screening of MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL brought to us by The Action Pack - the folks behind our recent 80s Singalong Prom!

I do believe I'm going to this! Maybe even stay around for the Quote-A-Long, although I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Impromptu quoting of Monty Python? OK! Staged/planned MASS quoting of Monty Python? The jury's still out. Might be one of those things to just go ahead and experience, regardless of reservations (and how many times I have heard these quotes quoted!).

A friend of mine who is a poet (and has recently started gaining recognition and publishing his work in books) is giving a poetry reading in Harvard Square on December 3rd. People should go listen to him.

I'm in Portsmouth pretty often. I was there the night before, I could have swing by. (Oh well, I'm not old enough to drink anyway >.>)

(edit: also, Hi thread! I probably won't actually do much, seeing as how Boston is at least an hour south of me. It's rather far to travel on a regular basis.)

That pub closed down suddenly. My friends showed up to sing and drink the other day, and the pub was closed. For good.

Well Sophy's probably the better person to get an opinion from (she's not a Hive dweller, but lives instead at the Casa de Freedom).

(If you don't live in a named dwelling, you're not a real Cambervillain, it seems...)

Ah. Of course.
I have a bit of a hard time keeping track of who is exactly living with who.

Edit:I might just wait until there's an official meet-up in that area.

The Fortress of Solitude?

In other news, because of it's poor lighting and partially underground location, my apartment shall from this point forward be named "The Pit."
