Ahhh, i'm guessing there arn't many people from Wisconsin here, at least compared to everywhere else. And I wont be in Wisconsin much longer either. Only a couple more months before I head off to basic. No XKCD meetups there, unless someone else is going to :P

So we should get together and have some fun while we still can!

(Milwaukee/Madison here. But I have a tree farm in Wautoma, so that puts me a good deal closer to you two than you would expect.)

I'm from Grand Forks. There should definitely be a Minn/Dak Meetup. Alexandria is approx halfway between GF and the cities, so that might be a good spot. there's an awesome lake there. Some XKCD camp-ness?

I don't work Sundays-Tuesdays, but since when I do work, it's nights at a non-demanding job, I could probably be open anytime.

So, which weeks work for everyone?

Wow, there is actually a few people here from southeastern Wisconsin. I thought i was the only one! I would definently be up for a Six Flags day as its only about 20-25 min south of me. I would also be up for a milwaukee meet since i work right in Cudahy.

Hey, I'm one of those forums noobs mentioned once upon a time. In addition, I'm from minnesota so I'd like to see something put together thereabouts. Thing is, I'm a minor with a couple obligations... So it might have to be within state =S if it's any consolation, I might b able to bring a couple more people like myself...? We're not EXTREMELY minor, mind you.

ATTENTION MIDWESTERS!

Penguicon is a convention that is happening in Michigan from April 30th-May 2nd. It's a con for science fiction and open source, but obviously welcomes all kinds of nerdery. I am planning to go because it's not even 45 minutes away and thought it would be great to use it as a place to get together with some xkcd forumites!

Well, the six flags post was back in August, but I just joined hence, just commenting. I live about 5 minutes away from six flags, but I havent gone in years. I would be willing to go if we could bring our caculators on the roller coasters and solve math equations.

I also live remarkably close to Six Flags (When I'm not at college :|), but if we're going to sneak things onto rides, it would definitely have to be chessboards with pieces glued on. The log flume would be pretty easy to sneak a chessboard onto, but they've instituted a "No loose articles ever" policy for just about all the coasters, so that would be pretty tricky. Log flume is totally doable though. Most of those people don't pay attention. Or care. I know, because I worked there two summers.

If I were to go to a meetup, though, it would have to be the week of March 20, on a weekend, or after May 14, since I'm at college about 2-3 hours away...

Gonna do some minor thread necromancy here.

I'm in Minneapolis (the U of M) for most of the year, unfortunately not right now over the summer. I'm currently in the middle of goddamn nowhere.

But yes, it'd be great to meet some fellow xkcdians. Shame there seems to be so few in Minnesota :/

Oh, I dunno. I had a list going for awhile (unfortunately not handy at the moment), and it was up to 8-10, I think. Not sure how many of those are still active, though.

I'd also vote for Madison-area; I got dragged into a roadtrip to Chicago back in May and I do agree that the whole driving experience was one of the worst I've ever had, even from the backseat with plenty of A/C and retro-Gargoyles games.

Myself, though, happens to also be located in downtown Minneapolis.

Well... Des Moines is a beautiful city, with traditional roots but moving into the modern stage. It has a host of convention centers, as well as beautiful banquet halls located in many of the 3 and 4 star hotels located minutes, if not in, downtown. We also have state-of-the-art museums in the fields of art, history, and science also located near downtown. Please. Come to Des Moines. The last big thing we had was the Junior National Debate Tournament. JUNIOR! That's middle-schoolers! PLEASE HELP US! :)))))))))))
