Think your art is better or your stick figures worse? Got a link to a site you want to share? Post it here!

so i tried to make my own xkcd...

i made two comics so far and i recently discovered that i deleted the txt file that i kept my ideas in (back before i got a scanner). i made one by stealing part of an actual xkcd and editing things in paint:

i made another by actually drawing, scanning, and fixing in paint. im lucky that stick figures dont require much talent because im a computer engineering major...a program which has not produced any great artists recently as far as i know. i like this one better...i think its a pretty good first attempt at a hand-drawn comic (except for the bad handwriting...damn):

feel free to copy them and edit them and make posters out of them and yada yada yada...

I liked the music one.

(I thought the other one would be funnier if it was Y10K problem. Y3K shouldn't be any more of a problem than Y2.1K will be, because I don't think many people hacked Y2K by going to 3 digit years...)

2038 is the other big one for unix folks, maybe.

The other subtle thing about music is how scales in general aren't as simple mathematically as they look. (In short, to get proper sounds, you need to use a bit of calculus, not just algebra). http://www.jimloy.com/physics/scale.htm explains some of it ... i remember other tales of Bach torturing his organ tuner by playing those combinations of frequencies that sounded terrible.

You shouldn't be afraid to do stick figures. While it's not as easy as it might look, it's also not all that hard, and a little practice can go along way.

i think the alt text for this one would be "...And you don't want to know what happens when you split an infinitive."

I don't understand either one of these.

The first one says "y20k" and then the other guy says that's like 2000 years from now. Wouldn't it be closer to like 20000 years from now?

In the second one, I don't understand why being called "dude" triggered him to have a spasm.

Edit: About the grammar one. A true lover of grammar would know:
1. The not ending sentences with prepositions thing was invented a few hundred years ago to try to make english sound more like latin and to linguistically separate the "educated" from the masses.
2. Fast can be an adverb.
3. The phrase "than her" is correct if you compare it with french, and why the hell shouldn't we compare it with french, french is awesome.
And I'm -2.

Stick figures are pretty cool. It's easier to make the panels if you do them on graph paper, by the way.

Okay, I'm going to be brutally honest.
Spoiler:
1. None of them are at all funny. xkcd clones rarely are, purely because subject matter that has been done ten gazillion times rarely is.
2. Why don't you capitalize your 'i's?
3. Why are you using BMP for the first one?

Also. With the handwriting thing, consider carefully drawing each character, making a font out of them and doing the text on the computer.
