Hmpf, yes - it's me, who will make a backup of the files when it becomes apparent a drive is about to crash... trying to remove all temporary and cache files and reducing the amount of total space needed.... or who'll move/remove unneeded files when the disk fills up on an old group computer... No, it's the Internet and availability... and the perceived anonymity of the Internet (of course, you are tracked in many ways really, but you don't actually see any people seeing you, right?)
I wonder if we're the same age, I have pretty similar memories there : ) — I guess you take what you get when you grow up — and it's rather scary what kids of today get thanks to the net.
And as to the last question... you're of course also growing up... you've seen one or two things by now (on a postcard, as Pratchett usually says) and some of the novelty has worn off.
