I'm based in Bangor, so I'd be well up for getting the holyhead-dublin ferry across to meet up.

I'm interested, definitely, and know several others who would be! This would totally be the best thing ever. Waaaaay better than that time we tried to have a Buttersafe expo and it failed entirely....

I'll be in Dublin May 13-15. I'm an American, but I'm going on a school trip.

Sure why not.
Okay, anyone who wants to meet up Saturday afternoon, 15th May, (or Friday afternoon if some would prefer) in some pub (The Porterhouse? Nassau St?) raise their hand.

Sounds good to me. :) Friday or Saturday would both be fine.

4pm. Sat 15th. Porterhouse, Nassau St.

So that's tomorrow.

Any objections?

PS. Make sure you confirm, I'll be setting out late but won't go unless I'm sure other people are coming.

I've pm'd evryone who posted in the thread, and so far most people have said that they can't make it tomorrow, but would be interested in meeting up some other time. Might be a good idea to move it to a date when more people would be availible.

Okay, May 29th. Saturday. 1pm. Porterhouse Nasseau St.

I'm willing to accept change on all this, it's just I've learned to be specific at first rather then stay vague until the last minuite, especially when arranging things.

Definitely busy May 29th... Any chance of it being the 7th/8th? I'm in Dublin then anyway, and again on the 23rd/24th, and I really don't feel like making a third trip to Dublin in the one month. It takes 3 hours...

The problem with having it during the week though is that a lot of people are likely to be working.

Alright, so here's the deal. It's coming up to exam time, and also, adults have jobs.Well, I'm told adults have jobs, I don't personally but that's a different matter.

Anyway, most of the adults who do have jobs work weekdays, so a weekend-time meetup is ideal. Exams finish at the end of June, so sometime after then would be good. How about... July 3rd? That's far enough away that people will have time to plan and such, and it's a saturday, AND it's after all the exams are over. Ok?

Hey, I could come on Saturday! Seeing as you're an XKCD crowd, though, you'd probably have to put up with me bitching about the toils of summer student astrophysics research. I'll warn you though, I'm from Cork, and I don't know where anything is. ANYTHING. I'd need strict instructions on how to get places, phone numbers for when I'm confused, and a search party for when I'm lost.

How about we meet up somewhere really really obvious like the spire on O Connell Street and figure out where we're going from there? My navigation skills poor at best anyway, it'd be great if I knew where I was going.

Saturday, saturday... Hmmm... Rhubarbed can't afford to go... Should I go? What time? WILL THERE BE ANY PIZZA? These are the questions we need to be asking.

Of course you should go! Looks like there'll actually be a few people. So I'm thinking we meet up at the spire around 2 and then go somewhere. Pizza definitely sounds good.

Anyone else coming?

I had a look at the buses and trains from Cork, and the latest I could stay if I got a train home would be 9pm. I could drive up and stay late, but then I wouldn't know what to do with my car, and if there was drinky involved I wouldn't be able to join in.

It's a dilemma for our times! What should I do?

Don't worry, I'll probably have to leave around the same time to get back to Navan. I'm not sure how late everyone else will want to stay though.

And next time without any classmates dancing on tables or making out with each other to get attention in pubs...

We waited at the spire for about 20 minutes because Woofsie was sure you were coming. Eventally he gave up and we left.

It became a running joke that you were late and still waiting at the spire, getting increasingly upset that nobody had showed up.
