Just a little question for you guys about adding to a game style.

I like the look of Assassins. I've played it on IRC and it seems to translate fairly seamlessly over to forums (apart from maybe taking longer).

How do you think it would work if you added a Jester into the mix?
So, 1 King, 4 guards, 1 jester and 1 assassin.

It wouldn't make a difference. People already play like jesters in 'sins.

My current favorite variant is to tell the King who the Assassin is. It's almost completely useless.

I really have no idea how to play this game. I'm too used to picking patterns of players being linked. Picking a single scum is a lot harder...

I'm ~70% certain that vector is town. If this is so, I'm a bit sad he has unsigned up from bio's game, especially if it is in part due to my posting that game. I actually think his strategy is quite sound (it's similar to how Princess Marzipan used to play from reading old games - and when I read that is when I started trying out that strategy (in Star Wars).

If he is scum, then sorry - but that was a big tell, and if I didn't jump on it, it'd only hurt us later.

So, I'm Riley, independent and I get to remove people's kill powers by implanting chips. I really like this implementation of a SK role. I think it is probably the most balanced one I've seen. Today I targeted vector, as I'm fairly sure Angel(us) must have (had) a kill power. Not sure who to target for tomorrow - but all this roleclaiming is certainly making my job easier.

Woo! I was right about ThinkSweet. That means my gut isn't totally shot yet. Is this the good or the bad Spike though? Only time will tell. Although, I think she's probably not very scummy. If lataro uses the orb on her as well I see no reason to lynch her anymore.

Krong and Two-Fry are currently my scum pingers. But it's mostly due to gut-feelings, and I hate going on gut and not anything specific. There's got to be a reason as to why my gut don't like them though, I just need to identify what that is. Hopefully there's enough pro-town targets now that I can survive for a few days so I can get a bit more to go on. I want to be useful for once goddammit!

Just got an idea for a potential strategy for future mad games where I'm pro-town. Something insidious and possibly quite a lot of fun. Now, who has a game where I can test this out?

Ok, I am grasping at straws here, but it's not like people will listen to me anyway. Hopefully though, I can get someone to start talking. I think we've milked ThinkSweet for as much information as we can at this point and keeping on that tangent is just going to get repetitive and boring. Hopefully Lataro uses the Orb on her and it works, otherwise though, I don't care that much today. Well, our awesome luck turned rotten pretty quick. Weiyaoli may have done gotten random-killed, though it seems like bricks wouldn't kill a vampire. The active townies continue to claim, other than AS and Dr Ug who are very likely masons. (Wouldn't be surprised if one of them is even Buffy.) And of all the people who are tripping over TS and the trap-setting AS and Dr Ug did with their initial votes, AS hones in on me.

Sigh. This is not a good game for my first scum role on the fora, as I'm starting to doubt I could avoid looking active-lurky even with a townie role.

Also, does anyone have any links to Youtube clips of Drusilla? All I can find are various "tribute" videos with crappy music that look to be made by spillovers from the Twilight crowd.

AS is pretty damn good... and one of our main balancing mechanisms just got hosed. We may need to moderately re-evaluate our notion of the game's current balance. (Thank you, NaR~)

Probably it might've worked a bit better if we'd given Angelus a kill-the-orb-holder condition... or maybe it would've ended the same anyway. Who can say.

Oh, and:

You finish the complex incantations and cringe as a massive Haxil Beast appears in a cloud of grey smoke. The Beast's mighty head turns towards you as it roars in fury at being transported to the mortal plane.
