Bluetooth Headphones with Boom Mic

So I'm trying to find some headphones. I've been looking for some for awhile now, but can't seem to find any that fit my needs.

I want wireless headphones that connect to my ipod, so I don't get a cord caught in my handlebars or wheels when I'm biking. (which has happened!)

I also want headphones with a boom mic, so I can connect to my phone when I'm biking and talk to people hands free. Some sort of flip up or removable boom mic would be good.

It would be nice if it also would connect to a laptop in my backpack, so I can record voice notes to myself. (To do lists, etc)

Finally, I want the headphones to have decent sound quality.

Not sure if bluetooth can manage that connectivity. I would imagine that there might be a way to connect to my ipod by default, then when I have an incoming call, the phone takes prescedent, then when the call ends it will switch back to the ipod.

If they don't exist, perhaps we can all collaborate on here and design some!

I don't think Bluetooth works the way you want it to. Last I checked, a given device (headset, that is) can only be paired with one receiver at a time. I could be wrong, though.

EDIT: Ah, looks like I *am* wrong, but headsets that do it are apparently rare.

Lol, I actually did not consider using a smartphone. However, I do not have one of these yet. I would like to get this to work with my 4th generation ipod and razr v3. (Rocking the '04 tech, oh yeah!) If this is simply not possible, I will have to consider the smartphone options. It would be cool, but a lot more expensive.

Also, I would like the style of headphones that don't use ear buds, either over the head or behind the head is fine. On the link that was suggested, where is the boom mic?

Where is the mic located? Keep in mind I'm going to be using this while biking, so I need a mic right in front of my mouth, without facing sideways at all so no wind gets picked up.

the mic on that headset was a omnidirectional mic. will pickup more wind than anything lol

Obligatory note that listening to headphones while biking is dangerous and most places illegal (though rarely enforced)

I bike over 100 miles every week, (10 miles to work and back every day) I usually listen to headphones every day, no problems so far! I keep the volume low enough so that I can hear what is going on in traffic, and I stay alert at all times. I can't imagine my commute without music, ugh!

That omni mic will be a problem though. Do stereo bluetooth headphones even exist with boom mics?

Good idea! I think I might just do this.

I want some sort of control pad as well, maybe 6 to 8 buttons on the side of the headphones so that I can enter various modes. (Music playback, voice recording, dial a phone number through voice recognition, send a text message through speech to text, connect to available wifi hot spot and scp audio greeting to my home computer for my cat, etc)

However, if you find one with a boom mic, I would love to know.

hmm perhaps I could get some sort of mic separate from the headphones, one that would clip onto my shirt or something. Would that work with an Android or iPhone? Also would like to get some sort of video camera to clip onto my shirt or helmet, that is always recording, so I can get the plate numbers of cars that nearly run me off the road.

Holy crap! How well do those work? Are they just dangling in the wind? Does anything hold them in place?

I think DIY is probably the best option at this point, but kind of a pain in the ass. I have been going to stores asking about this sort of product too but I do not think it exists yet.

I wonder if I could get some company to manufacture a prototype for me, lol.

Alright, I got some sweet bluetooth headphones with a boom mic that I am happy with.

So now here is my question:
Can I pair these with both my phone and ipod at the same time? (ipod is touch 1g, so it uses an external bluetooth adapter)

Another idea (but it would only work when I am close to my desktop) is to pair the headphones with my desktop, then pair the phone with the desktop also, so I could listen to music with my desktop, then when I get a phone call, have something that would reconfigure pulseaudio to change the headphones to the lowfi/mic mode, then when I end the call, change it back to hifi/music listening mode.

I suppose I could do the same thing with my netbook, using that as an mp3 player, and just keep it in my backpack while I'm biking around, although I probably wouldn't get the best battery life.
