This is interesting, because VectorZero made basically this post, with a "vote: Dr Ug" in it. Coincidence?

If anyone has specific questions about the BETA thread, I will try to do my best to answer everything (only up to the point where I died a horrible death, of course).

Also, I wonder if someone actively resurrected me or if the suicide just is an automatic thread switch which ForAllOfThis (probably) did not know about.

Mod: Could I eat another cyanide capsule and try my luck, or do I only have one for the entire game?
(I'm not actually planning to do this, but I guess it would be good to know?)

I'm endlessly amused by your juxtaposition of "it is bad that you don't talk a lot" and "I won't talk a lot".

That said, I would not be opposed to a Dr Ug lynch, especially considering the weirdness I pointed out above. I'll give it some time to see if he (or anyone else) has something interesting to say, though.

I'm fairly sure he didn't, since he was proclaimed "completely dead" on our side as well, quite a bit before I 'died' and was transferred to here.

The squad members gathered 'round and decided at the last minute to lynch Dr Ug. They lined him up against the wall, gave him a blindfold and a cigarette, and executed him, firing-squad style. That'll teach him.

Dr Ug is dead.

After years of intense work, our company is ready to celebrate...because even at the equivalent of 145 miles per hour, our ubiquitous Nanite Spray is designed to stir the soul...and not much else. Safe when used as directed.

The next day came quickly, and the group looked about. During the night, one more had come from the cryo-pods. He called himself Jay. Seven remained, and they were weary. Too much had happened the past day, and the group hoped that the outlook for the future would be brighter. How many of them would leave this place? No one could say for sure.

It is now Day 2. Seven players remain. Day 2 will last 72 hours, until approximately 1pm EST on Sunday.

Jayhsu has been brought back to life.

Also, yay D2. Do you guys think it's a good idea to openly claim who you'll be contacting, so we have no doubles? Or do we want doubles?

Still interesting, if crazy. I forgot who voted for me: I think it was VZ and Elvish Pillager. I was suspicious of VZ, but it was mostly gut feeling.

I do not plan to claim my contact. It worked awesomely last time, I mean you were dead and now you're alive :lol:

Inception is fresh in my mind too (and out on DVD Dec 7) and..yeah. That's pretty much what I'm thinking. I am wondering on optimal strategies here, would it make sense to try and get everyone to cyanide to ALPHA? Initial thought is yes, but we can't depend on scum to do the same, and if there isn't two way travel that'd be very stupid. That's a big "if", especially considering weiyaoli claimed a resurrect.

And on a completely unrelated note from resurrections, I passively learn role info for one dead person every night. I would've rathered Dr Ug, but um.

Roband was the president of Terrunci Enterprises. And uh, town, if that wasn't obvious. How 'bout that resurrect?

My D1 target was EP which failed for some reason. Did anything happen to show that EP was targetted in BETA thread?

No, it's not poetic, it's logical. Consider:

1. We convince BETA to lynch FOAT.
2. They lynch FOAT. He comes to ALPHA*
3. We have to lynch FOAT again

*assumption that Jayhsu was lynched in BETA. True/false?

On the other hand:
1. We resurrect FOAT
2. We lynch FOAT

It is simpler, more elegant, and assuming he can do it daily, would deny him a kill. One person here would die, vs one there and one here. This also assumes Dr Ug is not in BETA now, which is an unknown for the moment I guess. But if it's fully two way, it's going to give me a bloody headache on how we actually get rid of people.

Also, I didn't want to bring this up on D1, because I thought there might be an NK and I didn't want to be a target of that, but.

I've been looking for symmetry, and I think I've been able to 'match' some roles/people on both sides. ForAllOfThis's claimed ability is closest to Van's claimed ability.

Also she didn't want to tell me her rolename and I hold grudges. ;P

I'm not saying "LYNCH HER NOW", just saying IGMEOY.

(I'm kind of sad that I have to suspect Van, I enjoyed our conversation.)

Because I'm lazy and I couldn't quote it anyway, what exactly was his claimed ability, again? I'm about as close to positive FOAT and I do not have the same role as can be, as well as being pretty sure I am unique in this game. Just 'cause. I do things to dead people, and that's all you need to know. *snaps latex glove menacingly*

Don't other people do things to dead people (like freeze them and talk to them) as well?

Lataro and me seem to have a similar role (we both tried to freeze everyone on the other side shortly after the bomb, etc, though my attempts failed), e_e and roband seem to have a similar role. ForAllOfThis claimed a freeze ability and a one-shot communication ability, but I suspect he wasn't fully honest (on account of being evil). He wouldn't just have claimed a communication ability if he didn't have one in some way, though, that would be way too risky. At some point, people start expecting results. So what he has is "unspecified communication ability". There is only one person on this side (that I know of, but nearly all of you have claimed already

) who also has such an ability.

Hello. I am getting caught up, but in the meanwhile: it appears ALPHA does not believe Mav about FOAT (I find this hilarious/curious. It really hadn't occurred to me that Mav could be lying) and in other news, EP just "went insane and killed himself."

Mav, were you able to post anything when you were killed? I ask because EP offed himself after a moderate size analysis post, so.

I'm logged in on forums.xkcd.com as Roxanna and on "echochambe r.me" as myself. I clicked somebody's link to a thread, and those all point to forums.xkcd.com due to the substitution rules.

For some reason, forums.xkcd.com comes up with an ugly font for me (Firefox on Fedora), so I tend to prefer "echochambe r.m"e. Especially since until Asylum, I could never get forums.xkcd.com to save a cookie properly.

I never claimed either of those. Er, well, technically I claimed one shot communication to Mav back when I wasn't sure if I trusted her, but it's not oneshot e.g. see commentary on EP (speaking of which, his attempted suicide failed. He took pills and did not die. I'm not particularly sure how that makes sense, or what that means for Mav)

Except you missed out the fact that FOAT is probably lying since he did, you know, make Mav take a cyanide capsule.

The only other person who has pretty much the same ability is lataro but lataro also has the cryo ability which Mav has claimed to fit with his/her own abilities.
