Zombie RPG

Postby Arabascan » Sun Nov 21, 2010 8:32 am UTC

Hey there guys,
Few weeks ago, I joined into a zombie-RPG on the Newgrounds Forum. It collapsed after 2 days, but... It was fun, so I'll start a new. In my comment section (if it's not allowed, I'll find out but I think it's OK).
Rules are:
-It's the zombie world like in the "zombie survival guide" or in "World War Z" (Max Brooks).
-Location is NY
-It's short after the great panic (means most of the NYers are evacuated or dead and there's nearly no military).
-The survivors are guys who are stuck in NY for some reason (or wanted to stay). They are NOT ueber-zombieslayers. I dont want a group of McGyvers, J.Bonds and Chuck Norris-like-guys. Soldiers are OK, even Elite-Soldiers but they are not those "I-Pwn-you-all-suckaz"-soldiers. They have problems with survival too.
-Stay realistic! You can't make a doublekill with your small finger. If you get bitten, you won't survive!
-No zombie players.
-Here you'll just post in-game-comments. Everything else will be made via PM or I'll open a new topic.

And: If you want to join in, please contact me first via PM.

I'll make the first post when some of you PMed me.

Names Boston. Been Wondering this Place for about a week now. Came down from my namesake when the city went haywire. How is everyone?

The door was locked. London knew, that there is food behind that door. The guy was one of the people who early started hoarding, and some days ago, London saw him wandering around in the city. He was infected. And the door is locked, that means that he was infected outside before he could use the supplies. But breaking the door would make noise and noise attracts the infected.

London prowled out of the building, searching for a window he could use to enter the flat. There was one. Third floor. No fire stairs. He has to climb.
Luckily there was a drainpipe. It wasn't rusty but mossy and probably slippery. Anyways, it was the best way. London wasn't a bad climber but clibing a smooth wall alone without equipment...

After a few minutes, he reached the window. He smashed the glass, wary not to make much noise. Then he pulled his crowbar and entered.

The flat was clean and tidy. No signs of battle, no blood. Looked clean.
Then London noticed that the door has been barricaded from the inside. The owner couldn't have done this when he was outside.
There's something here.

London looked around. He found another locked door. He heard scratches. He tried to open, but it was locked from inside. He put his crowbar in position and opened.
The zombie couldn't even turn around before his head was smashed.

There was some canned food and other supplies in the flat. And it was safe now. A perfect hideout.

Wraith saw something out of the corner of his eye. He quickly turned with his SKS ready to fire, scanning for a zombie. When he saw someone climbing, he put his weapon down. "Zombies don't climb", he muttered to himself. As he walked towards the house, he heard a thud of a body hitting the floor. Thinking it might have been the person he saw climbing in, he opened the bayonet on the front of his rifle, holding it ready to thrust if needed. He quietly tapped on the door and waited for a reply.

*tap tap*
London turned around quickly. Everytime when you just want to sit down, eat something and relax...
He drew his Steyr GB. Ugly as shit but the perfect weapon for CQC. Durable and accurate. Would be even better with a silencer but still looks impressive.
He looked through the peephole and saw the SKS. Not a bad weapon, but not in buildings. The bayonet would be more dangerous. And if he stays inside, the stranger wouldn't shoot because that would attract Zombies. So he fainted: "Who's there?"

He heard a faint noise like someone talking. He couldn't make out the words, but it didn't sound like a zombie. Taking a deep breath, he gambled on the voice being from a human.
"My name is Wraith. I heard something fall. Is everything okay in there?"

not too far in the distance a noise, almost like that of a creeper about to explode, occurs. Suddenly two nearby buildings explode and rain fire. A shout of "booya" is heard in the distance.

"Fuck. OK, the Zombies will first run to the noise. But more Zacks will rush in and the area will be crowded in a few minutes. C'mon, let's grab everything useful and get out of here ASAP."
London opened the door, then ran inside the room and started grabbing supplies and stow them in his backpack. He's caucasian male in a ugly brown wax jacket with a camo backpack. His only weapons are his unsilenced pistol and his crowbar.

Wraith runs halfway into the room and takes off his pack. He starts shoving supplies into it when a moan is heard from outside. He turns around and sees one zombie in the street. "Shhhhh" he says. "One zombie, outside. Hasn't noticed us yet."

Wraith looks at his pack. He had a water purification system, three MRE's he'd scavenged from a dead soldier after putting a bullet in his head to make sure he didn't rise up, and 50 rounds of ammunition. "Let me grab a little more food and I'll be good."

After he finishes packing, he turns and says "I guess we can do introductions now. My name is Wraith. At least, that's the name I go by now. I used to front a metal band before all this happened. We got stuck in here when the military put up a perimeter. I don't know where everyone else went to, but I don't think anyone else is still living. What's your name and story?"

The guy grabbed a few cans of food, then turned around.
"You can call me London. I was on vacation here when the whole shit started. I managed to escape from Allentown and went here to get a ship or something to return home. Short after I was here, the military started to retreat, the city was overrun and now... Just tryin' to survive."

"I doubt any ships are still here. I think the best thing we can try to do is get out of here. Mountains are good for survival. Only problem is the water. I don't feel like swimming, so we will need to get a boat of some kind if you want to try that. The only other ways out are the tunnel and a helicopter."

Side question- are we setting this in New York City? Just trying to get a firm location down for where it's set at.

London grabs his stuff and walks towards the door.

Wraith turned and followed London. It's strange he thought to himself. I'm trusting my life to a complete stranger. I hope that it works out better than going it alone..

"London. Since we're out in the open, do you want me out front, or do you want to be in front? We'll switch off every block as we move. It should be a little more secure to move that way. Let's just move away from the blast. When we hit water, we'll figure out what to do and which way to go then. "

After traveling 3 blocks, they hear a sound from around the corner. Wraith opens up his bayonet and takes his place at the corner of a building. He motions for London to be silent, then listens carefully to the sound he's hearing. Eventually, he hears human voices. He whips around the corner and sees that a T.V. is still on, a remnant of a former life. He heads across the street and waves London over.

Three blocks away, tires squeal as a black, full-size van turns a corner at high speeds.

Sorry, picked a bad time to make my first post. Went on vacation 2 days later.

London sprints cross the street to the next corner, covering the street with his pistol, ready to shoot. Then he saw something.
"Wait a second! Here's a gun."
A dead soldier to his feet. He obviously shoot himself with his MP5SD. Red-dot-sight. Silenced. Some clips left.
London took the gun and wrapped it on his back. In safety, he will first clean it, then use it. He also took all the other clips and a combat knife.
"OK. Let's head... We're at Upper West Side. The Lincoln tunnel is destroyed, I think, we should go south to reach the Long Island Expy. Agree? Go."

From behind the van rolls up next to London and slows to a stop. The driver window is rolled down, and a voice from within starts.
"Hello gentlemen. I saw you running earlier might want a warm place to stay. You will have to ignore the noises from the basement lab, though."

Phrozt plants his iron tipped bo to the ground and vaults his boots into the middle of the 3 zombies in front of him, crushing its skull as he lands. A quick sweep trips up the zombie to his right, and his long pea coat swirls as he executes a snapping blow to the jaw of the last standing zombie, sending its head spinning at an awkward angle as its spine is snapped at the neck. He gets up and arcs his bo overhead, smashing the skull of the zombie he tripped up a few seconds before, sending blood across his splash guard.

He would have slipped right past them had the damn van not peeled around the corner like that.

"hmm... survivors... at least 3 of em."

Hoping he wasn't making a mistake, he stood out into the open street and hailed the van.
