Rapunzel = Beautiful

Postby masterwizard » Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:29 am UTC

Maybe it's just because I've got a thing for blondes and chicks with long hair, but I think Rapunzel from Tangled is the most beautiful princess ever I WANT TO MARRY HER! Sigh... I actually felt slightly depressed for the rest of the day after watching it because she doesn't exist and I know I'll never end up with someone with freaking epic long hair in real life because nobody actually goes around like that. But yeah, I actually think that it's amazing and would totally fall for a girl who had that kind of hair in real life.

And thus a fetish is born. Damn you, Disney!

And yes, I feel obligated to add: hair does not equal a person, just like face and body do not equal person. Awesome hair can be found on wonderful people and complete assholes alike. Better strategy: find an awesome person, then find out if they would be willing (or able) to grow awesome hair.

Or maybe hair of that length actually looks awful in the real world, where it would be flat as hell on non-curly/kinky hair and be full of split ends and look brittle regardless of how much money you throw at a salon. :P

You might like Sarah from Weregeek (she's the one with black hair, look at panel 4)?

Not to mention how much it would weigh; or the fact that every time you washed it, it would take a week to dry; or that you'd need three people just to help you brush it; or that it would get in the way all the damn time -- seriously, where would you put all that hair when you're trying to sleep or cuddle or anything else?

Yeah, long hair is a bloody pain to keep up. Sometimes literally, with all the scrubbing and pulling at tangles. There's a reason why my hair hasn't been past my shoulders since high school.

I had a friend in elementary school with hair past her knees. She was able to keep it in very good condition (no split ends etc...) but had to get up an hour earlier every day to braid it and pin it up so it wouldn't get in the way. We called her Rapunzel until the first day of sixth grade when she showed up with a pixie cut.
The moral is that anyone with hair that long is probably sleep deprived and would be very grumpy.
